Cathy…..thanks so very much for your generous offer of wanting to attend the conference with us. Cathy, I am only allowed a specific amount of attendants which this year has been filled. However, more conferences will come along and definitely I will contact you. But please meet up with us in the early evening while we are in Chicago.
All my best wishes,
MarionFebruary 17, 2011 at 2:59 pm #47971jathy1125SpectatorMarion-I live in southern IL. so Chicago is just a train ride away. I am intersted in attending, I am sure there is lots of caretakers and people in the “fight” but what about cc survivors? I think it is important show there is survivors of this cancer, which unfortunately is very rare. Please tell me your thoughts-Cathy
February 17, 2011 at 5:57 am #47970marionsModeratorCathy….thanks for the offer. Would you be able to meet up with us, at one point, during our stay in Chicago? We would love that.
Best wishes,
MarionFebruary 17, 2011 at 5:54 am #47969marionsModeratorMargaret…other opportunity will present itself along the way. The Cholangiocarcinoma has strict rules in that volunteers are not compensated for their labor of love however, unless we can obtain grants from the various organizations The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation will cover all expenses incurred. This includes airfare, hotel, and meals.
So there, Margaret; you will have your opportunity also and I am looking forward to that time coming your way, sometime in the future. .
All my best wishes,
MarionFebruary 17, 2011 at 5:45 am #47968cathy_aSpectatorPending my health, I would be happy to do whatever you need from me as I am only an hour away.

February 16, 2011 at 11:10 pm #47967mlepp0416SpectatorI was thinking about attending this until I found what it would cost. With all the medical bills, etc…this is WAY beyond my pocketbook.

It took me a while to find this thread. Have a lot going on here right now and have only been checking in now and then. I’m not sure if I will be able to get down there at that time or not, but will keep it in mind and Barb thank you for the offer of a place to stay if needed. I appreciate that. I will be watching for updates as the time gets closer. Hope everything is going well for both of you.
Love & Hugs,

Got your E mail, Thank You!!!!!!!February 14, 2011 at 10:35 pm #47963roma35MemberHey Darla,
If you wanted to come and not have to drive back at night, I have a spare bedroom. Come to think of it, so does my mom, if anyone else is thinking of coming, your welcome to stay with us. Let me know:)February 14, 2011 at 10:22 pm #47962marionsModeratorOh Barb….hopefully it is not too cold. Did you receive my e-mail?
Also, I want to mention that due to the awards ceremony involving the grant all board members will be in Chicago. We could all meet up for dinner. Please, anyone else able to join in let me know.
This could be the very first for us in that we could have a face to face meeting with anyone of our members.
Darla, are you able to meet us?
Hugs
MarionFebruary 14, 2011 at 10:07 pm #47961roma35MemberI plan on looking up Cindi(Lindas SIL) and Lindas mother soon. It was so sad to hear Lindas mom say ” I cant believe I only have two sons now, and not a daughter”, and to see her little boy walking around in his little suit…..
Yes, by June us Chicago dwellers get the warm weather we have earned!! Its been a tough winter! Either way, if the event is outside, Ill tough it out if it helps us get closer to a Cure for this dreadful disease.February 14, 2011 at 9:39 pm #47960marionsModeratorHi Barbara….thanks for spreading the word. How precious of you to attend Linda’s wake. Thanks for sharing. Should you see any again please, send my love to all especially to Linda’s little guy.
Good question about the other event you and I had discussed. Let me forward this question to Sara, as she is the one handling it. Brrrr…is right for Chicago. Although, June has always be pleasant for me. Hopefully, it is the same for this year’s ASCO.
Hugs
MarionFebruary 14, 2011 at 9:21 pm #47959roma35MemberSmall world!! Today I met a long standing customer of mine, that I had never met face to face, and turns out he is a Gastrointeroligist at Evanston Northwestern Hospital. He knew exactly what CC was, he has only seen a few cases, and he kinda sighed when I told him what my dad died of, anyway, he is going to be at the ASCO in June, I told him he needs to go by your booth Marion.
BTW, I am so glad we met Linda last summer, my mom and I actually went to her wake and met her family, her sister inlaw and mother were amazing. It was heartbreaking, but it was so great to meet them face to face and hear first hand how much this website helped Linda. Her little boy was just a doll! Now he has an amazing guardian angel watching out for him.
Peace
btw, Marion, I can make it to the event Feb 28. Is it outside??brrrrrr:)February 14, 2011 at 8:58 pm #47958marionsModeratorLainy, I agree. We have really moved forward with this cancer. And, thank you for all you do also. And, a special thanks to our Teddy as he had provided us with his most memorable performance at the Society of Surgical Oncology conference held in Phoenix.
Hugs are coming your way,
Marion -
