Hi Bob and thanks for Sheila’s update although I wish it was better news. Hoping she can get the stent as Jaundice usually means a blockage in the bile ducts and the way to get them open is a stent. I can’t help on the chemo but I know it keeps on working for a few months. Teddy had some radiation and it worked for 3 months out. I know you will be getting some more answers here and we are thinking of you and Sheila.

I was wondering if anyone knows which chemo treatments are the “kindest” to the liver. Sheila’s liver functions are all elevated and she has some jaundice now. We are scheduled to try some nexavar but I know that is metastisized by the liver. It seems like I read a post on this site about a chemo that isn’t metastisized by the liver…..maybe oxaliplatin???? Sure would appreciate any help in that direction. As an update, Sheila has been doing two different dieuretics that have helped with all the edema. Legs have gone way down but the abdomen still is very swollen. She has had two parcentesis procedures but none for the last month or so. Still has alot of confusion, have started on some Lactulose to help with that. We are hoping after a CT scan today they may be able to insert a stent to help with the jaundice and perhaps start some kind of chemo. It has been several months since she has done any. Thanks for the help everyone, Bob
