CC can grow very, very fast and it can be extremely slow-growing, almost stable. Mine is horribly virulent and fast-growing. As one of the mixed hcc-cc type cancers, it’s really, really ugly. My ca 19-9 went from 400 to 20,000 in just 3 months and went from no visible disease to three 2 cm tumors and “innumerable” smaller ones in the same time. The only thing you can count on is that everyone will be different! Crissie I don’t think where CC is concerned there are any rules. Sometimes it grows faster than other times it is slower. Chemo does go on working for a while when stopped not sure about time frames. I would ask the ONC, good question.

So my dad had to skip chemo due to low blood count. I guess he missed a week maybe 2…well the stent was blocked. I heard from another source that my dad talked to the doctor and he feels the stent was encapsulated by the cancer due to the lack of chemo. Huh? It can grow that fast and block the stent? I don’t believe it. It seemed my dads urine turned rust colored…he made an apt they decided to go in and add another stent…the day of surgery his urine was normal.
