Do you have access to a nurse practitioner or physicians assistant? I have found that “mid-level” health care providers were much more helpful with managing side effects and quality of life issues.

Brigitte….you have reasons to complain and deserve an explanation of your questions. The occasional pain, how long has it been present? When is your next scan?

Dear Brigitte, I believe we prefer to think of all our Doctors working together as a team for us. I feel, being me, that I would go to get another opinion on everything from an Oncologist who has good experience with CC. I feel kind of all over the place here with you and for you and perhaps time to find someone not afraid to deal with CC. Unfortunately the chemo tiredness goes with the territory. I hope you feel better really quickly and give some profound thoughts to someone in our field. Best of luck to you and there is nothing wrong with searching and searching until you find the right fit. Best of luck and good wishes coming your way.

Just wanted to unload my thoughts on all this. Had chemo today, so am tired hence worry about this.
I don’t like the new doctor who sees me once a month before my chemo. He seems quite nonchalant about my aches and pain. He says, could be the chemo, might be muscles. I do have arthritis in my spine and joints and my rib cage hurts when I twist or bend down. I do ache on my right side from time to time, not sure if it is the chemo. My primary doctor is not helpful either. So oncologist worry only about the cancer, primary doctor seems scared to diagnose or recommend something. I am seeing my regular oncologist in Jan after my scan so will talk to him then. Hoping to get ablation done as he suggested in October. I have been on chemo since Jan 2016 if the ablation burns the lesions then maybe chemo won’t be on the treatment plan anymore. Just wanted to unload my thoughts on all this. Had chemo today, so am tired hence worry about this.
