    Jamie,

Thanks so much! I got a response back from his doctor, and he tells me that it could be from one of the previous drain sites. I guess from where he had the external drains. He said of course that he would take a look at it on Friday. I told Dave what the Doc replied, but Dave says that the external drains (which looked like little mini footballs on each side) were in a lower postition than this “cyst”. Could it still be higher I wonder??

    Thanks for the postive vibes!!

    Hi Ladybug;
I had a fairly good size lump that was tender to touch near my incision after surgery. My Dr for accupuncture thought it was scar tissue and had me see a massage therapist to work on it. Seems to have worked. Although my last scan showed the cancer had returned, that area was fine. So I’ll say a prayer that Dave just has some scar tissue. The waiting is hard I know. So I’ll send positive thoughts for good results on Friday and a more peaceful week for you this week. Take time to enjoy today. God Bless,
    Jamie

    Amy,

Thanks for the info, ya know, it may be that is what it is. I have sent an e-mail to his doc to see if he can give me some insight into what it may be. I am not certain that he will reply, it may be that he just waits to check it out on Friday, as I am certain that he can’t really predict anything until he check it out. Yes….this is so scarey to me…sleepless nights and butterflies are what I am living with these days.

    Thanks again!

Mom had a really big lump near her incision. It was also a hernia. The dr removed it because hers was quite large, but I know that there are cases where they just let them be. Lumps and bumps and pains here and there are so frightening these days, aren’t they???

    Good luck on Friday.

    Thanks Kris!

I had thought that too. Dave says, we will just have to wait and see what Friday and the scan brings. Ohhh…the wait is just so intense! Deep breaths!

I had lumps around my incision and they disappeared. Perhaps it is just inflamed tissue from the wound. Lets all hope good thoughts.

    Thanks Lainy!

I am saying!!! We certainly do not need more lumps!! I wondered if it could be some sort of scar tissue. He got an infection, and they had to open up the staples to drain it, and I just wonder if it could be something associated with that. Our scan is this Friday, and our Doc is in St Louis at Barnes, so I suppose I will wait to find out something then. Our scan is at 12:00, and we meet with the doc at 1:30 to get the results, and discuss chemo.

I am praying that Teddy has great results with his scan tomorrow too!!

    Thanks so much!!

Hi Bugsie! Teddy has developed 3 lumps in the area of his radiation, cyberknife and Whipple. I asked the doctors about it and they are in agreement that the lumps are small hernias from scar tissue and etc. With that said, I would ask the doctor. Teddy’s PET Scan is tomorrow so we will know more. We have enough in our lives without more “lumps” along the way, yes?

    Hi everyone….

As you know our scan is this Friday, but yesterday, as I was cleaning the area around Dave’s wound, I felt a cyst, or lump, that I could move. It was at the top of his right rib cage, and I have never felt it before. I have been doing wound care for him for months, and this is something new. I asked him if it hurt, as he could see me move it, and he said when I pressed on it. I am so worried. Is there something else that this could be? I asked one of the ladies that I work with who is an RN, and a breast and lung cancer survivor, and she said it could be a node?? Any one hear of this or have this happen?
