I was on gem/carbo for 7 months and experienced tingling in my toes. After I went to gem only, in about three months the tingling had reduced significantly.

Thank you for your replys. So far she is just very tired and extremley cold which is not helped by the weather here in the UK!
She’s had slight tingling in her fingers and feet but I am guessing this will get worse as time goes on!

Kate…… Clinically, many tumors respond well to chemotherapy exposure however; as it so happened with your Mom, sooner or later drug resistance occurs. Until others have a chance to respond with their personal experiences with “Xeloda” you might want to take a look at this:
    http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/cancers-in-general/treatment/cancer-drugs/oxaliplatin-and-capecitabine
Additionally, when entering the word “Xeloda” in the Search Function, many other postings will appear.
Good luck and please keep us posted. We care.
    Hugs,

    Hi,

Mom just started on capecitabine (Xeloda) about 2 weeks ago, but she is doing it without the oxaliplatin. Before she started, I used the search function to look for Xeloda and one thing I found was that it is helpful to cream hands and feet each night with Eucerin to avoid side effects that some get. So far her hands and feet are doing well- just fatigued so far.

    Good luck,

    Catherine

    Hi,

My Mum was previously on gem/cis. However, spots of cancer have been found on the lower part of her stomach. Therefore her oncologist feels this is a good time to change the chemo.

He has recommended oxaliplatin and capecitabine.

I wondered if anyone has experience with these chemos?

    Many thanks,

    Kate
