G, Good lick with your lapaprocopy. I too have pain but in the left shoulder. I didn’t injure it but arthiritis. They would like to clean it out but I settled for a steriod injection in to the joint. About 70 % less pain and more mobility. Follow-up in 2 months. They don’t think it’s mets, just ole fashion arthiritis.

So the upshot of this fortunate turn of events is that I’m not having chemo at this time (Yipee!) and I’ll get another scan at the end of June to see how things are developing. I’ve had some spots on my lungs on the last few scans.
Taking advantage of this break, I’m going to get arthroscopic surgery tomorrow for a rotator cuff injury on my right shoulder. It’s been injured for two years but the treatments for cancer was always a higher priority. Although it’ll take a few months to recover from this surgery, I’m hopeful that I’ll end up not having my ongoing shoulder pain.

I was asking on the other post how you was doing, now I know. I’m glad to hear the gemzar and carboplatin has been a positive experience for you. Taxotere is what’s holding things fairly calm for me. cheerio again,

I’ve been on Gemzar and Carboplatin since summer of 2006, with a bit of time off here and there for good behavior.
I’m sure you know that everyone reacts to chemo differently, but I’ve had a relatively positive experience with it. It tires me out for 4-5 days, and it knocks down my wbc and rbc counts — so I get to stick myself with filgrastim (to stimulate the wbc production). But I have been able to keep working all this time. (Though, I wonder on tired days whether I really should keep working.)
I hope that Joe will tolerate his regime well. Good luck to you both.

Are you on chemo now? Joe just started and I am hoping for good response. he is on Gemzar and Xeloda. mary Anne

My body’s still in a state of upheaval, I suppose from all the organs being moved around during the search. But, it’s worth it!

Yippee!!! What a wonderful end to a what was a lousy day. Dave is having a paracentesis this week as he has developed ascites and they want to see if his cancer has spread to the peritoneum. Sure hope your good news brings him good luck. All the best with your up-coming oncologist visit.
PatriceI am so happy for you. Good news for one is good news for all. This is such a crazy disease and how wonderful that you got the good end of the “crazy” with the disappearing tumor.

Hi all,
I had an exploratory lapaproscopy last week where the surgeon planned to get a biopsy of the tumors that’ve metatisized to my peritoneum. My hope was that he wouldn’t find too many of them and that he would be able to remove them.
Much to our surprise, he couldn’t find any tumors there! These are tumors that have consistently appeared on numerous MRIs and CTs!
I’m meeting with my oncologist later this week to discuss the results. But, I’m vastly cheered!
