My husband had a left lobe liver resection in October 2005. It was followed by 2 rounds of gemcitabine and Oxaliplatin. Then 5 1/2 weeks of radiation and 5-FU. Then Gemcitabine and Oxaliplatin starting again in March 2006. He has two more rounds in June and hopefully finish up. So far so good!

    What was the treatment?

Mike just had his first MRI done yesterday since treatment started (Dec.). He couldn’t sleep last night for worrying about the results. His appointment is next Thursday. He phoned the oncologist’s office and asked if someone would call him back with the results. I prepared him for the fact that they would never give results over the phone good or bad. Well, they proved me wrong. The oncology nurse called him and told him they do not give results out like that but knowing that he would never sleep until he saw the doctor, she caved. She told him “everything looks great!!” For this first MRI, no signs of cancer!! More details to follow when Mike returns to the oncologist next Thursday for his second to the last treatment. Stay strong, stay positive. We will keep you posted.
