Barbara, what a hard road for you and you have given it all a good try knowing that there is no real cure other than surgery.I think your decision is absolutely the right one and you know sometimes people plateau a bit with the cessation of harsh treatments.Try symptom relief and rally all your supports around you including this site! I am 61 and after 20 months on chemo for cc and mets to the abdomen I now have pain in the abdomen and possibly a gastric bleed. I have had to have 2 blood transfusions since my hemoglobin level has been 7 instead of 12 or 13. I am out of breath and gasping most of the time and spend a lot of time in bed resting AFter such and active life and 20 months of chemo, I am just tired of it all. I have had radiation but I am not a candidate for surgery and never will be. I am thinking abut hospice since the oncologist says 6 months although my children and grandchildren want to keep me around forever. How much can one take? I am no longer interested in 2nd opinions or other chemo cocktails.
