Hi Marion
I tried to find the book – the link took me to an error message . I also tried the “search” feature which also brought up the same link, which then unfortunately also resulted in an error, not found message.
Is there another way I can download it?

Kris, sorry to hear that you were also caught by surprise by cancer despite your healthy lifestyle and (what seemed to be) relatively minor symptoms. Have you been in treatment for three years now? Chemotherapy? How are you doing currently? It’s great to know that there have been treatment advances over recent years.
Marion, thank you very much for the pointer to the book – I just signed up for it a few minutes ago. I look forward to reading it and learning more.

Jack….I would like to follow Kris and welcome you to our site. I am so sorry to hear of your friends diagnoses. What a wonderful support you provide for her. Jack, you might want to read up on the section describing gall bladder cancer in the newly published biliary book. It is free of charge.

Treatment options vary a bit from that of Cholangiocarcinoma and it has a higher rate of occurrence than bile duct cancer.

Your friends story sounds similar to mine. I ate fairly well, drank a little, exercised, and went to doc for abdominal pain. But I was already stage 4 and inoperable.
There have been so many advances in the 3 years I have been on this board. I wish your friend all the best with chemo, with nothing but wonderful results!
Please keep us posted.A close friend was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer about a week ago. As I gather is often the case, the diagnosis was a complete surprise, as gallbladder cancer is quite rare and other causes of abdominal discomfort so much more common (including gall stones and inflammation).
Additionally, my friend exercises regularly, is in her early 40s, and is quite careful about what she eats. She had no fever, appetite, energy, nausea, or jaundice problems, just abdominal pain that was intermittent and not very severe.
Her gallbladder was removed successfully, but nearby lymph nodes are inflamed, and she is set to begin chemotherapy shortly.
Needless to say, my friend and all close to her are just trying to absorb the shock at this point, while learning as much as possible about this particular type of cancer, chemotherapy, and dealing with cancer in general.
I look forward to participating in the forum, and hope that we can all learn from and support each other as we contend with our challenges.
