    Hi Marni,

I don’t have anything more to offer either, but just wanted to welcome you and hope you keep coming back. Helping and supporting each other is what keeps us all sane in this crazy world of CC. I hope things improve for your Mom soon.

    Hi again Marni,

My Mom never had vomiting but she did take two anti nausea drugs with her chemo and since she never vomited…they obviously worked! They were compazine and zofram (I’m not totally sure on spelling). Maybe you can enquire about these.

Hang in there! We are all here for you. You can also use the search engine I told you about to see an individual’s posts. My story with my Mom’s CC is under Cherbourg.

Come back often and know we are all here for you and your Mom!

    Hugs,
    Pam

    Hi Marni:
I don’t have much to offer on the vomiting since my husband Tom has not experienced that at all, even while on chemo.

However, let me join the others in welcoming you to this site. It’s the best site that I have found on the internet for my search for some good knowledgable information on CC.

I will keep your mom in my prayers.

Go with God and KEEP KICKIN’ THAT cancer.

Thanks everyone! Your words of kindness and compassion mean so much, as well as your helpful suggestions and website links.

My mom is taking anti-nausa medications. I’m not sure which ones, as they have been trying different ones since none she has tried have done the trick. The good news is, it’s mostly just in the mornings (occasionally other times later in the day), so once she gets past that she can keep things down.

You all have such amazing strength, and are truly inspirational to others. Thanks again for your help. I look foward to continuing to be in contact!

    Hi Marni.

Welcome to the site. I take primperon for the vomiting. If she is vomiting too much for pills,s they do have those in supositories (sorry for the bad spelling). There are studies that show ginger also helps so have her drink some ginger ale and perhaps see if there are ginger tablets. I think I read somewhere that high protein also helps.

Let us know how it is going.

    Hi Marni,

Welcome to the site, although I am sorry that you had to find us all here and I am sorry to hear of your mums diagnosis. I am glad that after reading the posts here for the last month that you have joined us all and have shared the story of your mum. I know that you will get a ton of support and help from us all so please keep coming bcak. Also, please feel free to ask as many and all questions that you may have and I know that someone here will be able to help.

Pam is right in that the search forum function at the top of the page will help you for searching for discussions regarding nausea and vomiting, and I know that there are a lot of discussions on this issue. Is your mum taking any meds for this vomitting? My dad had quite a lot of problems with nausea and he ended up taking a variety of different meds for this. He started off taking just the one type of medication then ended up trying a variety of different meds with different doseages. Here is a link that might help concerning anti-nausea medications –

Have you spoken with your mums medical team about the nausea and if so, what have the recommended for this? How is your mum doing when it comes to eating food? Is she able to keep meals down? One thing that my dads specialist told him was to eat smaller amounts of food but eat more often, and also try and eat foods that are easier to break down such as mince and soups. Perhaps that might help.

I hope that your mums MRI scan this week goes well and I hope for the best possible news from this. Please keep us updated.

My best wishes to you and your mum,

    Gavin

    Hi Marni!

(and welcome to the site!) There is a search engine at the top of the page. Just enter “vomiting” or whatever question or key word you have and you will be able to pull up all of the posts on the subject.

My Mom did not have vomiting with her CC so I can’t really offer suggestions. I’m sure the rest of the crowd will soon read this and can offer you some more help!

Please visit often and know you and your Mom are in my thoughts and prayers!

    Hugs to you both!

My name is Marni. My mom was diagnosed in April with cholangiocarcinoma. I have been blessed to come across this website, and have been reading your posts for the last month or so, and just knew I had to join in.

My mom’s bile duct cancer is at stage 4. She has just completed 3 cycles of a chemo regimin of gemzar and cisplatin. She has an MRI coming up this week, so were very anxious to get those results and see how things are going.

She is doing pretty well, but a lot of vomiting, especially in the mornings. I just wondered what knowledge, advice, tips, all of you wonderful people might have to offer.

I am sorry that you all are part of this unfortunate club. But I am thankful there are so many teriffic people out there to help get each other through these challenges. May God Bless you all!
