Jeff G.Lisa, I’m glad you’re doing better. I’ve been thinking about you everyday. Would you tell us all what you mean by fevers? Would they come and go or be consistent? Were they high or random low grades here and there?
I read your letter again and again, Lisa; I’m praying for you, my friend.

I’m feeling much better now and chomping at the bit to get out of the hospital. Unfortunately, it seems that I can’t be released until they identify the exact strain of bacteria that attacked me. When they find out, then they can prescribe the correct oral antibiotic.

Yes, I believe that our bodies talk to us all the time but with the progress of modern medicine, a lot of people don’t hear their own bodies anymore. My mom was a heart patient and I do think she was experiencing cc symptoms at least a few months before she was diagnosed but docs were always so focused on her heart. She got a new stent and defibrillator/pacemaker implanted in the 4 months before she was diagnosed but I wonder if it was all necessary.

be in the hospital but glad you caught the infection as quickly as you did. Just where you want to be to watch Saturday night TV! UGH!
Teddy finished his radiation Wednesday and has had a very rough weekend as the doctor said he would. He is a tad better tonight. Now we want to see you get better. Stay strong, keep your spirits up and with your attitude you will beat this bump in the road.I’m currently sitting here in the hospital getting pumped with antibiotics to fight a blood infection. If I had waited to go in to see the doctor, my infection could have proved fatal.
The infection originated in the bile ducts due to bacteria backing up into the bile ducts past the narrowing where the tumor is.
I’m posting this as a reminder to y’all to listen to what your body is telling you. I was having fevers and pain in the liver area on and off for three days. I’m glad I called my oncologist. Fortuntately, we caught it in time.
The bad news is that last night’s CT scan showed that the tumor has grown a bit. So next week I’m going to discuss other treatment options with my oncologist. Actually, I’m fortunate that my regimen has worked so well for so long.
