Elmoks…I also am sorry to hear about the fluid build-up. Several members on this site have recommended special stockings including, elevating the feet.
    All my best wishes,

    Hi Elmoks,

Sorry to hear that your mum had a bad day yesterday, I can so relate to that from when my dad had his bad days. Is your mum taking anything for the swelling in her legs and feet such as diuretics? I am hoping that when hospice care come today then they will be able to offfer your mum some help with this as I know it is not nice.

My best wishes to you and your mum,

    Gavin

Suse, sorry to hear that. Does he have something yet for nausea? Its so hard to know what to do at this point about their wanting to get up and go. Its hard to deter them, but I felt Teddy wwould be using up what little energy he had if he went out. They need the energy to fight the pain. If they get over tired that is not good for either of you. Does Randy have a walker yet. I used to keep Teddy’s at the side of the bed and told him he must use it for everything because if he would fall EVERYTHING would be worse for him. Once he bgan using the walker (like with the Oxygen) he didn’t move without it and life again was a tad easier. Best wishes floating your way.

We had a similar day. My husband fell and got a concussion on Tuesday morning and has been in bed ever since. Today he was almost desperate to get up and go for a drive — so, of course we did. We had to pull over twice for him to vomit. It was so sad but he wanted to be out and see the blue sky so badly. He was anxious to get back home to bed. He has not been able to eat much at all today although has had a good appetite the few days before yesterday. We try to do what he is up to, but he seems up to less and less. I teased him today that maybe he’ll do his energizer bunny routine and be up again soon. We keep looking for the best, too. Blessings to you. Susan

Dear Elmoks. Been there, done that…not nice. Teddy had got up to 250mg Morphine with a breakthrough hourly of 75mg. Seemed to work for him until they switched him to Fentonyl patches and those didn’t work as well for him. He too was always saying, lets go out to eat or go here or there. The mind can work in pretty terriffic ways. You are one terriffic daughter, hang in, stay strong, you will always be glad you took care of your Mother. Wishing you both the very best.

    Hey Elm,
Oh do I hear you! But yes, always take the GOOD! Somedays it feels like you can’t find any, but there always is. Take a deep breath and come on here and read the Good News Section it always brings me out of my funk, because I know people are doing great things against this Cancer. Stay strong!

Today mom is having a bad day. Her little feet and legs are so very swollen. I hope that when the Hospice nurse comes she’s able to do something about that. Mom said her legs hurt. They increased her pain patches to 300 last week and she’s still having break through pain. It just doesn’t seem fair. Today she struggled with getting her nausea under control to. Stupid cancer!!!!! On a good note she wants to go on a drive….. wanting to get out of bed and out of the house is a VERY good sign.
