Daisy – I am just starting this journey and have an appointment at Mass General in Sept. Did your Mom have any surgery before her remission or just chemo? Where did she go for treatment and did Gem/cis put her in remission.
I beat breast cancer but this one is really a scarey one. I am praying for your Mom and please post any info you can so I kind of get a feel for what is down the road for me.

Have you had a look using the search forum function at the top of the page? Pretty certain that there will be some posts about experiences there from the members and hope that will be of help to you. Good idea with getting the 2nd opinion on option of radiation and I will keep my fingers crossed for some good news for you and your mum. Please let us know how things go.

Anyone have any personal experience at Mass General? My moms going for a second opinion for radiation there on Thursday. She has been on Gem/cis for 3 months after a year and a half of remission. The chemo worked on the nodes but the lesion remains the same. Our hopes are that she receive radiation for the lesion and she could technically be back in remission….maybe maintenance chemo?? So off to Mass for a second opinion hoping to,get any inside info on people’s experiences.
