Congratulations on 20% shrinkage! That is awesome news, keep up the good work!! So happy to hear positive results and thank you so much for participating in this trial.
MelindaSeptember 2, 2015 at 12:48 am #88641iowagirlMemberDiane…way to ace the scan exam!!! Seriously, 20% shrinkage is a really great response for any treatment of this cancer and in a short time. Good luck in October……for another 20%+ gone as well.

September 2, 2015 at 12:06 am #88640rarebreed15MemberAs I stated on the other discussion board. I had very good results after my scan on Aug 26th, My Dr told me that the CT showed a 20% shrinkage of the tumor. She was very pleased with my results. I had only started chemo at the end of June and I am still on the clinical trial MEK 162.
I see Dr Lowery at MSK in NYC.
Wishing all my fellow CC people good luck with their results. My next scan will be at the end of OCT._Diane

This is the study identifier:
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01828034June 30, 2015 at 4:24 pm #11383rarebreed15MemberHI guys, I just stated on this Clinical trial on Jun 16. MEK 162 Inhibitor phase 2, along with Cisplatin and Gemcibine I have Bile Duct Cancer, I have cancer lesions on my liver and a spot on my spine so I’m stage IV. I didn’t go to the Dr due to being ill. I see a hematologist/oncologist every three months due to a high platelet problem. He noticed my liver enzymes were a little elevated and checked my blood a couple of more times to see if it was just a fluke. Then sent me for an ultra sound thinking maybe I had gall stones and they were irritating my liver. Nope, not the case, there was a spot on my liver, then had a CT, that appeared to show the cancer and had me have a liver biopsy to confirm that it was cancer. The PET scan showed it was in other places. I still look fine, people can’t believe I have cancer. I If I wasn’t going to a DR, I’d be at my sleep away camp where I have worked for the past 7 summers. Now I have to stay home and go thru this.
Anyone else doing this trial in NYC at MSK? Since this is still new to me , not sure what side effects are happening. I go for my second round of chemo tomorrow. I didn’t have a port put in but I’m thinking after tomorrow I will have that done. The Gem hurts/burns going in, not very pleasant. I just recently noticed that my scalp hurts. Anyone else have this issue.
I’m not a great writer so I apologize if I’m all over the place. BTW I am 52years old and have not been sick in years. Have had perfect attendance or would just take a day off here or there just for me. -
