I would like to follow Darla in welcoming you. We, similar to you, were also expecting gallstones to be causing the problems when indeed it turned out to be Cholangiocarcinoma/bile duct cancer for my husband. I am a strong believer in second or more opinions when it comes to this disease. Due to the low occurrence rate in comparison to other cancer it is of absolute urgency that a physician very familiar with this cancer is contacted regarding the diagnoses and possible treatment protocol. Members on this site will gladly forward names to you if so requested by you. You might want to make sure to have all records on hand including, blood tests, scan results, doctor

Hi My mother was diagnosed with CC on July 17,2009. Before that she was experiencing all the nasty effects of this disease….jaundice,pain,extreme itching. We took her to the ER and she was admitted,initially we thought it was gallstones causing the obstruction it turns out it was a fist size tumor in her liver. A biopsy was done and was determined to be cancer. At this point surgery is not an option. I guess my question is How effective is radiation? She has lost so much weight about 35lbs. She is also very nausous and vomits often.
