Pam….it is amazing what our bodies defense can bring about. Congratulations and wishing for a rather uneventful Monday and for these nasty cancer cells better watch out.
    All my best,

Thanks. Went to the Gastro guy late yesterday afternoon. Going for a Colonoscopy Tuesday morning. I knew my Cancer had not returned as I had a PET last month and all was stable. He feels its either an IBS attack or an infection in the colon. It sure has disabled me. I hate laying around and try to stay up but to no avail. And Television is terrible. The other night I did catch the first Christmas Story of the season! Do they have to start before Thanksgiving?
Think I will try and do some Thanksgiving baking and keep my mind busy. A banana cake freezes well as does Biscotti! I LOVE Thanksgiving, it’s my favorite!

    Lainy,
Yeah I think it is funny at the things we get excited about too. Where else but on this site would people get excited about a high platelet count. Haha!
It made all of our family’s day! Take care and hope you are feeling better.

    Love, -Pam

Hi everyone. Great news!! Lauren and I went to our local hospital so she could get a blood test to see if her platelets went up enough for chemo on Monday. They were 76 on Monday. They were back up to 255 today. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chemo Monday in Michigan. We will never give up fighting.

    Love, -Pam

Marion-we got some iron rich cereal and more spinach at the store today. Can’t hurt to try! Thanks for the suggestions.

Maria-thanks for the suggestion of exercise. We will be taking a walk!

Lainy-thanks for the poem. We love it.

Cathy-thanks for always being in our corner. I am so happy you are a cc survivor!

Pam-thanks for caring and your words of encouragement.

Grover (or should I say Captain!!)-what a huge jump in your platelets! I hope the same happens for Lauren. Thanks for the warm wishes.

    Much love to you all,
    -Pam

Reconfirming what others have said. On my 3rd chemo visit my platelets were 76 and I got the day off from chemo. The next week was an off week and then back at it. The next blood draw platelets were like 374 with out me doing anything different. Dr. adjusted chemo strength and I have been fine since then.

It’s nothing anybody did or didn’t do. keep the faith, the only way forward is forward. Prayers to you and your daughter.

Pam, good thing Lauren will have her blood drawn closer to home before you head off again. I am sorry that you all had that disappointment. I’m sure everything will get back on track soon. Pam

Pam-I love reading your journey. I had low white counts during my chemo treatments and had to skip one. I was in a clinical trial so I couldn’t even make it up. I just sat and cried when they told me, you just don’t want to miss anything. It just can be so mentally devasting. I am a firm believer in “until you walk a mile in my shoes”, so just keep posting and this family will keep telling you all your expierences are “normal”. I can’t post enough “CC survivor” and can’t wait for Lauren to post the same!
    Lots of prayers-Cathy

Ah Pamela, I feel for Lauren but she needs to know that #1 not her fault and#2 the chemo still goes on working. Hopefully she can resume Monday and consider these few days off a nice respite!

    I asked for strength.
God gave me difficulties to make me strong.
    I asked for wisdom.
God gave me problems to solve.
    I asked for prosperity.
God gave me brawn and brain to work.
    I asked for courage.
God gave me dangers to overcome.
    I asked for patience.
God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait.
    I asked for love.
God gave me troubled people to help.
    I asked for favors.
    God gave me opportunities.
    I received nothing I wanted.
    I received everything I needed.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life!
