My story is very similar to yours. One year now in April. My big tumor has shrunk a lot, but theis last scan (day before yesterday) shows no change since last one in feb.
I would like to see shrinkage in every scan, but one has to be VERY grateful for stable as this GOOD.
Are you feeling sick, as you canJtoro, YIPPEE! You go girl! Say, I have an idea. Would you consider tutoring part time? Like Lance says, “Live Strong”. Keep that good news coming.

I love your docs advice! As far as “waiting for something to happen” goes, something did happen. This morning the sun came up again and you found yourself on the right side of the grass. “This is the day the Lord hath made – I will rejoice and be glad in it”. When I completed my chemo and radiation I decided to live each day – one day at a time. It’s like a gift has been offered. Open it up and enjoy…Blessings on you!

Jtoro….Congratulations. I agree with Nancy and Nancy in that stable disease is something to celebrate. When life is good it is just that….oh, so good.

MarionJtoro, Stable is great! Lots of exciting things happening in your life right now with your son off to college. You are right when you say this would be difficult, sick or not. It is wonderful that he can come home often.
Sounds like you have an amazing doctor and she believes in you!
So, you are a teacher, then it is my guess that you haven’t quit teaching you are just not at the same work place every day!
I’m interested in the 17 cycles of chemo. How many are they planning? Sounds like it’s doing the trick.

I hadd a scan and it said disease was stable, no growth or
new lesions. I’m coming up on a year in May. This week started my
17 cycle of chemo. I have tumors in both lobes of liver, but largest is10mm.
Unfortunately I have lesions in the omentum and 2 small
lesions in lungs.
I have been on the same chemo of xeloda, gemzar, and nexavar all year. I’m two weeks and 1 week off. I also have ct scans every seven weeks to check for growth.
My doctors are pleased with how things have remained stable.
We just went on a vacation to attend the admit weekend to the college
my son will attend in sept. We had a wonderful trip to Pennsylvania to Swarthmore College. It’s beautiful and the perfect fit for him. I wanted him to
stay close to home in Ca, but he really wanted to go back East. I think this would be difficult for me wether I was sick or not. He has many vacations,
he will be home often.
My Dr. Gave me a talking to about needing to live my life and not waiting
for something to happen. She said you are not dying, you are living, so get out and live. I truly trust and admire Dr Lenz and Taline, but this is
sometimes hard for me to do. I had to quit teaching and I loved
it so much. Well I guess I have to think of more things to stay busy. Well off to church for prayers and study.
