I’m stage IV as well and I was told that they wouldn’t consider surgery because it is in my lymph system. Until it was found there, they were actually willing to try. Now they want to shrink the tumors and hopefully get it out of my lymph before considering surgery.

    Good luck.

Hello Jeanne and welcome to our awesome family. I am sorry about your husband
but you have come to the right place. UCLA happens to be very good but we do believe in 2nd and 3rd opinions. You are not that far from Phoenix and both Mayo Clinic here and Banner MD Anderson are also excellent at dealing with CC. CC is a touch journey and requires a lot of strength. If you go to our search button at the top and type in Stae IV I am sure posts will pop up and you can see what has been offered for Stage IV. Everyone is so different and CC seems to hit everyone different as well. Wishing you the best and please keep us posted.

    Jeanne,

As I’ve recently found out, the minute you have metastses, docs won’t consider surgery. However, if you are determined, it pays to keep asking around. I’m sure others will chime in here. Keep fighting the fight and just know that there are a lot of people on this site who are pulling for you. Keep us informed how things are turning out. This is a hard thing to go through but together, we can lighten the load somewhat.

    Prayers coming your way.

Hi – My name is Jeanne’. My husband was recently diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (we believe Stage IV). He has also been told that he has PSC. He is being seen at UCLA and has been told that there is no chance of resection or liver transplant. Do any of you know of anyone who was in Stage IV CC and who was in fact determined to be a candidate for any type of surgery. He does have other tumors that are complicating the situation, but we are looking for alternatives and other docs to look at his case.

    Jeanne’
    California
