Mark, along with Marions shake, Teddy loved Carnation Vanilla instant drink. I would blend in a banana and the shake has all the nutrition needed to replace a meal. You can even have it 3 X a day. Worked well for Teddy.

Protein shakes appeared to work well with my husband, but watch for constipation.

Yikes, Mark. Before teddy was stented he took cool showers and used small ice bags on his arms and legs for the itching. Also found a great cream for it called Sarna. Don’t know if you can get it there or not. That itching is just the worse. I feel bad for your Dad and hope they can come up with a solution.

Mark….Definitely…. hoping for the best for you. Mark, the search function will reveal numerous postings on bile duct invasion, but it can become difficult to determine where you fit in. When is your appointment with the surgeon? The consultation with him will shed much needed light on the situation.

Hi Mark. Yes. Teddy’s first tumor pressed the bile duct and the 2nd time it pressed his right ureter closed. In both cases both the bile duct and the ureter were stented. I am not understanding why they can’t stent the bile duct if it is causing jaundice? I know the ducts are very delicate but wonder why they can’t do it? Is it because the tumor is in the way?

The MRI show that a tumor is effacing the common bile duct the onc told me today that its mean the tumor is pressing on the common bile duct and that is what is causing jaundice and itching not a need for decompression of the bile duct but the position of the tumor is bad have anyone have this case ? He transferred us to a surgical oncologist tomorrow to know if something can be done with that tumor pressing on the bile duct maybe a surgery ?? I’m really confused have anyone been in this case ? A stent is not possible coz of the tumor being on the common bile duct that sound weird a bit I’m sure there is a solution for that with a surgical procedure it cannot be left like that any suggestion would be kind of you all . Hope for you all the best
