Have you looked at essiac tea and also Budwig diet they are alternative therapies but if conventional medicine can’t help maybe it’s worth looking into. I’m sorry you find yourself at this point, a reoccurence is what we all fear. You could also ask for a second opinion x I have everything crossed for you x

July 13, 2014 at 10:20 pm #82677snowbirdMemberMoontje – I can tell you a little about the cannabis oil. My husband, Ron, was able to try the cannabis oil, which was manufactured by the Rick Simpson formula, not long after he was diagnosed with cc. At that time Ron was very ill, vomiting and not able to each much. The oil did help with those symptoms, but it didn’t do anything to shrink his tumors. It was a strong strain of cannabinoid and he did not like the effects of it – being “high” all the time. From what we have read about the oil, it has worked well for people that have seizures or brain tumors. We know that it didn’t shrink his tumors because he was off chemo for nearly 6 weeks and was using the oil this entire time. He had a scan after the 6 weeks off chemo and the tumor increased in size by 3 cm. However, like I said, it did help with nausea and increased his appetite. Godspeed!

DarlaJuly 9, 2014 at 2:55 pm #82673lainySpectatorDear Moontje, I am so sorry to hear this news. What I suggest is to get another opinion immediately. Get copies of all Toms Labs and Scans so you can take it to another ONC and see what he has to say about the latest Scan. Wishing you the best but a 2nd opinion is definitely in order. Be Strong! We are all here for you!

July 9, 2014 at 5:27 am #82671gavinModeratorHi Moontje,
Thanks for letting us know how Tom is doing and I am glad to hear you say that he is doing great and is working fulltime again. I too can not answer your question for you but hoping like the others have said that it is just scar tissue. You will find out more after the meeting with the med team to get the scan results and please let us know what is said. In the meantime, I will keep my fingers crossed for good news for Tom. I know what it is like waiting for the results to come through, grrrr to that! Please stay strong and you know that we are here for you.
My best to you and Tom,
Gavin
July 8, 2014 at 6:27 am #82670marionsModeratormoontje…..do you mean to say that Tom has a “lesion” in his scar tissue? Hoping that it is scar tissue only – we have few reports on that. Hang in there, stay positive.

MarionJuly 7, 2014 at 3:46 pm #82669lainySpectatorDear Moontje, I do believe you may have to wait until your ONC visit after the Scan to know more of what is going on. On the other hand it is good that Tom has been doing so well. Sometimes along the scar line it is possible to develop something that could feel like a nodule or even a small hernia, my Teddy had that, so please try to think positive or as we say realistically optimistic. IF and I say IF the CC has returned there the good news would be that you caught it very early. I know its easier said then done but please try to relax and we call what you feel “scanxiety”. Please do let us know what happens.
July 7, 2014 at 2:46 pm #82668darlaSpectatorHi Moontje,
Good to hear from you. Glad to hear that Tom is feeling great. Sorry I have no answers for you on this, but am hoping it is just another bump in the road. I’m sure there are others who will chime in with help soon. Please update us when you can as to the results of the pet scan etc. Thinking of you and hoping all goes well.
