Thank you Gavin and Karen,
It does get better each year and the planning has already started for 2018 (with something new to go along with raising funds in memory of my Jacques). It is a Labor of Love for an incredible man and for a fantastic Foundation.
All the best to you,
Barbara
barbara6193SpectatorDearest Lainy,
You will be missed by so many. I have loved reading your posts through the years. I am so thankful that I got to finally meet you in person in SLC this past February.
All the best in health and happiness to you, sweet lady.
Hugs from New Hampshire,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorI am very pleased to share with all of you that our “Casual Day” to raise awareness and money for World Cholangiocarcinoma Day was very successful. My amazing school staff and one of the elementary schools in town participated and we raised $930, all of which will be donated to The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. I was hoping to get a picture of the staff at my school with their green ribbons, but with 4 snow days in 6 days – there was not enough time in the day to get a group photo.
I am very fortunate to work with such supportive people.

Yes, there will be pictures this year – I promise. I wish all of you from the Discussion Board could be there – I know you will be in spirit. Yes, there is a very handsome man smiling down on me – that I know for sure – it is the Love of my Life – my Jacques.

BarbaraFebruary 9, 2015 at 12:44 am in reply to: Reporting back – 2nd Annual CCF Conference, Salt Lake City, Utah #86626barbara6193SpectatorWhat an incredible conference. As, Melinda stated, it was incredible to witness how many brilliant minds were in one room, working to find a CURE and to improve the care that cholangiocarcinoma patients receive to improve their quality of life. Melinda, you’re story was so moving and made such a huge statement, one that the professionals need to hear. Hugs.
I could not help but think back to when I attended my first conference with Marion and Stacy, back in 2008 in Orlando. I remember so many things about that conference. The past few days seeing the collaboration, sharing and understanding of the need for research and clinical trials for this disease, was totally energizing and rewarding. It is truly incredible how far this foundation has come, and it is due to the relentless work of Stacie, Marion, Donna, and the rest of the Board of Directors, as well as the volunteers and everyone else behind the scenes. I am honored and humbled to be a part of this foundation, it has become my passion and my mission. I am proud to do my small part to help raise awareness for those who are battling cholangiocarcinoma and also for their families.
The last night of the conference was very emotional as all of us volunteers sat around the table with Donna (Volunteers of the Round Table) and shared our stories of how we became involved. So many passionate people, everyone just wanting to make a difference in some way. It was wonderful to meet so many dedicated people.
Hugs to all from snowy New Hampshire,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorDear Jason,
There are no words to express how sorry I am for your loss of your wife, Andrea. I will continue to do whatever I can to fight the fight to one day find a cure. I do this for my Jacques, Andrea, Mark, Percy, Bruce, Teddy, Peter, Becki, and all who have lost their battle with cholangiocarcinoma. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs from New Hampshire,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorGavin, You are amazing. Being here at ASCO and trying to get to all the sessions, poster presentations, and lectures, we miss some of the abstracts. Thank you for all you do.
barbara6193SpectatorGavin,
Not sure about roller skates for me – as Marion said I am very organized – and that is what gets me to all the places I have to be.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Chicago – even though we all will be very busy – it is always wonderful to see the faces of our Cholangiocarcinoma family at ASCO.
Hugs from NH,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorPercy,
Very well stated. I am looking forward to seeing you. As for your accent – I LOVE it.
See you soon – Hugs from NH,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorThanks Gavin – I set up all my meeting on iPlanner today.
Enjoy the day,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorHello Marion,
I would love to join you all – my schedule as of today has me at a meeting until 6:00 on Saturday – so it looks like I will be able to.
Looking forward to seeing everyone. Hugs from NH,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorGreat news Lainy. Sending hugs and healing thoughts to you.
Hugs from NH,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorHello Oceangirl,
I am so sorry for your loss. I totally understand the pain you are going through. I would love for you to be at the 2nd Annual Benefit. It is going to be an amazing night to raise awareness of Cholangiocarcinoma and to honor those we love. I would love to include your brother in this benefit. You can email me at: barbara6193@comcast.net.
Hugs to you,
Barbarabarbara6193SpectatorI have to add that the Children’s Books were donated by beautiful 5 year old grandson, Brayden (he is such an old soul) – he told me that he had to donate these books (as I bought the same ones for him last year) for “his Papi’s fundraiser”. My darling, Brayden, never had the honor of meeting his Papi, but my daughter was carrying him in the final stages of Jacques life and Jacques spent many hours listening to Brayden’s heartbeat with a stethoscope – I KNOW that my Brayden and his Papi are totally connected.
