    Dear Deb,

It is with great sadness that I read your posts. Although my husband was 62 when he passed away from this disease, our stories are much the same. He also went quickly. Less than two months after his first symptoms.

I also felt much as you, but have come to realize that there is no right or wrong here. There is nothing you could have or should have done differently. It is what it is. It’s not fair, but this disease does not play fair.

I found this site shortly after my husand passed away and the people here are what have gotten me through the past 3 1/2 years.

With time you will come to find that you are stronger than you think. I was once told that you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. I have found that to be true.

I still miss Jim, I still love him and wish we had been able to share more time together, but that was not to be and I am doing my best to keep on going taking small steps forward and living life one day at a time.

Your husband will always be with you in your heart and memories. My thoughts are with you and your family during this most sad and difficult time.

Come back here often. There is always someone here willing to listen and to help when you need it most and we all truelycare and understand.

Take care of yourself and your family now.

    Love & Hugs,

    Bob ,

You have my deepest sympathy. I’m glad you were able to be there to help her through as she passed. No words can help at a time like this, but know that I am thinking of you and take some comfort in knowing that Sheila is no longer suffering or in pain. She will always be with you in your heart and memeories.

    Jeff,

I really enjoyed reading your posts and learning about you and how you are dealing with life & CC. I love your attitude and outlook on both life and death. It is very uplifting.

My husband lived his life much as you describe. He lived life to the fullest and even kept going when his symptoms began. He died less than two months after his first symptoms were manifesting at the age of 62. I now also subscribe to your 1-2-3 way of life and death. I am not afraid to live but I no longer fear death either.

Thanks for joining our special group. I look forward to hearing more from you on your journey. We are all here for you if you need us and I hope you will continue to post as I think your words of wisdom are a great asset to this board.

Lots of positive thoughts coming your way.

    Dear Bella769,

Your story breaks my heart. I am so sorry for your loss. My husband’s story was much the same as your dad’s. He too passed away quickly from this disease that no one had ever heard of before. He was 62. I am hoping you can take some comfort in the fact that he did not have to suffer for a long time and he is now no longer in pain. He will always be with you in your heart and memories.

I am so sorry to hear that Patrick has lost his fight with this awful disease. My husband passed away from CC only 2 months after his first symptoms, so I do know what it is like to lose someone so quickly. One can never understand why it sometimes goes so quickly and others are successful fighting this disease. It’s not easy, but try to take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering or in pain. He will always be with you in your heart and memories.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

    Hi Cindy,

Welcome. Glad you found us. You have come to the right place. Everyone here is so very helpful and informative. There is no other place you will find as much info on CC as here.

As Lainy said I have been trying for 3 1/2 years and have gotten no where with the VA. Sheila is a good person to be in contact with. She has given me a lot of information and help, but so far the claims are still being denied. I’m only aware of 7 or 8 who have been successful and usually there are other circumstances invloved. My case is even harder as my husband was on an air craft carrier and I can not prove he stepped foot on land. It is a long and often frustrating process, but I continue to monitor it and gather any information I can. If anything changes I will definately let you know. Filing with the VA is the first step and you have already done that, so you atleast have a foot in the door. Hopefully you can atleast get some help with the copays.

Know that I am thinking of you and your husband and hoping for the best.
