I had lung metastasis at time of diagnosis, as well.
fantastic4MemberMy thoughts and prayers are with you, Gail
fantastic4MemberThanks much guys! Yes, I have had 7 different opinions from many leading health care centers. I am now going on my 4th regimen of chemo as surgery and/or radiation are not options. All of these regimens were the same recommendations by AtlantiCare, Fox Chase, U of Penn, and Thomas Jefferson.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!fantastic4MemberMilena
You are an incredible woman and I am very sorry for your loss. I wanted to thank you for your last post and I’m sure it must have been very difficult for you to write. It really meant so much to me as I am a 45 yo father of 4. It is very difficult for a parent to determine what to say to their children, when to say it, and in how much detail. My kids ages range from 9 to 15 and I don’t give each child the same amount of details. I agonize over this on a daily basis and truly appreciate your input.
Thank you so much for sharing with us!
Bjfantastic4MemberVery happy for you both!!
fantastic4MemberHi Stacie. I am very sorry to hear what you and your mom are going through. You have a tremendous amount of support within this organization and we are glad you are with us. I am also on 5-FU plus leucovorin with a 3 rd agent added called Tarceva. Is this what the Dr is suggesting to add to your mom’s regimen? If so, I would be happy to share my experience with it as I have been on it since September.

Very happy for you guys!fantastic4MemberThanks so much Kris!!
fantastic4MemberHi Kris
Thanks so much for the info. I am otherwise healthy and now that I haven’t been on GEMOX for a few weeks am feeling much better ( also experienced severe SEs). I am interested in the trial you are in and when I followed your link I got a journal article on adjuvant chemotherapy. Any chance you can point me to the details of the trial such as enrollment, inclusion/exclusion criteria, etc.? I’m not having much look with clinicaltrials.gov due to govt shutdown.
Thanks again!
Bjfantastic4MemberThanks so much for the rapid responses! I will be sure to update all on my progress and future therapies.
fantastic4MemberI also had the itchies that drove me nuts! Cholestyramine (Questran) helped a little. Works by binding to the bilirubin and preventing it from depositing in your skin. Benadryl also works for some.
Bjfantastic4MemberHi Lisa
