    KarenD,

Thank you so much for your input. Her platelets were low last time so I’m assuming they will do more blood work to check on that. I will try to give her a call tomorrow before her appointment to pass on this info.

My husband talked to his mom today and she was feeling better, but had been sick yesterday and a few days before. Seems it’s hit and miss for her feeling good days.

All of this is so new and such a learning time for us all. Thank you again for the help and input.

I need to get the name of the chemo she is taking. I know it’s one that causes extreme cold sensitivity and she cannot have anything cold while on this type of chemo. I do not think she has a fever, but I haven’t heard for sure. She will be going to see her oncologist tomorrow sometime but no chemo this week due to it being her off week. I just hate she is having such a hard time and no a bad rash. She was on some heavy duty antibiotics so I’m wondering if maybe it’s yeast?

No other treatments were suggested other then chemo and I am not 100% positive of what type she is taking. She does not have insurance due to her not being able to set it up at work where she was training. She is 59 and will be able to get long term disability which will also give her Medicaid. It’s just a rough situation all the way around. She was caring for her very sick husband before this prognosis. She lives many hours away now with her sister, but we try to keep in touch and help with research and advice as much as possible. She says the oncologist is very knowledgeable and kind. She was very sick after her first chemo treatment but was much better after her second round. She is in good spirits. When she was admitted to the hospital at the end of march her liver was not working, so that was also a concern of the drs. I’m assuming it was from the blocked bike duct. We we so blindsided by this that it felt like a terrible nightmare that we would wake up from so many details were lost on me as it all sunk in.
