I’m on an inhibitor drug from Lilly. It doesn’t have a name yet. Still in phase one.

    Update on me…
31 months and still feeling good!
Entering the 6th (4 week) cycle of this trial, and everything is still stable.

I worked in the printing business for almost 30 years. Many of them I was the person changing/cleaning the chemicals. I definitely came in contact with lots of chemicals. Ruined a few sets of clothes by spilling/splashing them on me, too.

I got flu shots both flu seasons so far, and had no problems.
For help with the Xeloda copay, call Genentech at 877-987-2487 and see if they can help. They got mine reduced from around $500 to around $250 or something like that. Still high, but better.
I’m sorry your trial testing was negative. Hopefully you can find another one that may use your biopsy results.

Florida is a little far! I hope things go well with you. Stable is a good word around here! Just stay positive! I know, it’s hard when chemo makes you feel like crap, but it’s for a good cause.
I hope the fundraiser is a roaring good time. I’d be there singing if I could.

    Dear Satchie,
I saw your post elsewhere, and know you have received some responses.
Sorry you had to join our club, but you have come to a great place for information, experience, and support. We are a great family!
From what I know, there are a number of different mutations of this cancer. I believe most are fairly quick to grow. The tumor in my liver grew from about 3cm in Feb. 2011 to almost 5.5 cm in April 2011. So if that is anything to go by, yes, I believe, unfortunately, most of these Tumors can grow at an amazing rate.
I was also diagnosed because of another issue. I was getting an ultrasound for gallstones and the mass in my liver was discovered, so thankfully you had another health issue. I know, that sounds bad, but it might not have been caught without your other health issue.
Good luck with your treatments. Where are you being treated? I hope you have researched and found someone with experience treating cc.

    Jules,
I second what Lainy wrote! Yay for you and your mum to try something new in hopes it will work! Imagine being able to say you were in the trials of this breakthrough cure!! That’s why I joined the trial… Not for personal kudos but to hopefully help myself and others if the trial is successful, which it seems it is.
Thanks for the link, Percy… I knew you could be counted on for some good information.

I don’t know the answer to this… I think as far as cc is concerned, it may b too early.
I am on a trial for an inhibitor, and it is working to keep me stable. But it was not really “built” to shrink cancer cells, just keep it stable, and prohibit new growth.
I’m hoping, like you, that soon there will be a breakthrough. For now, I will take “stable”!!!

    Jules,
Good luck to your mother. I agree, negativity does not belong in our lives, nor do we need to deal with an onc who is negative!
I was hopeful for surgery, and went through chemo, but had Gem/Ox. Then I missed my window of opportunity due to illness and mets, and am no longer a surgical candidate. But I am on a trial drug, and get out singing, dancing and playing poker all the time! Now if I could only find a part time job! Lol
I share my story to everyone who is not operable or is questionable, to let you know there is HOPE!
