Thanks Gavin!!! Radiation is our next part of our journey. He begins that March 8th for 6 weeks. I am worried, as they tell me that they will radiate where the tumor was, because we were within millimeters of the surgical margin. AND there was two lymph nodes that were involved. We must have the scan on Wednesday to make sure all is still clear before we can start radiation.
Cancer never sleeps, but neither does GOD!
Hugs your way!!!

I just read your post to Dave, and he thanks you so much for giving us both perspectives into the options. We are still waiting for the Oncologist to review his file further, and call us to schedule the appointment for the consultation.
Hooray to you and you mom!! Sounds like you both are very strong women!

ladybug02142004SpectatorLuLuu,
Thank you so much for taking the time to post about your knowledge on alternatives to chemo. I am going to try to locate this book, and learn everything I can about nutrition and supplement. My step dad is 85, and looks like he is 65. His entire life he has taken 8 different kinds of vitamins, including fish oil. I an convinced that is why he looks and acts so great!
I appreciate all the information that I can gather on this.
Thanks so much again!
ladybug02142004SpectatorThank you all so very much! It is going to be a long night tonight, waiting for tomorrow…and then another long day! I will post to you all tomorrow night, as we should have our results tomorrow afternoon. Scan is at 12:00, and Doc visits at 1:30. Please everyone about that time he is getting his scan…say a pray for Dave & I, that whatever we are faced with, we will have the strength to make it through. You will never know how much your posts mean to me.
Sending thank you hugs to you all!!
Beth
June 15, 2009 at 6:31 pm in reply to: Concerned about a lump that I have felt on his ribcage… #29473ladybug02142004SpectatorJamie,
Thanks so much! I got a response back from his doctor, and he tells me that it could be from one of the previous drain sites. I guess from where he had the external drains. He said of course that he would take a look at it on Friday. I told Dave what the Doc replied, but Dave says that the external drains (which looked like little mini footballs on each side) were in a lower postition than this “cyst”. Could it still be higher I wonder??
Thanks for the postive vibes!!

Thanks for the info, ya know, it may be that is what it is. I have sent an e-mail to his doc to see if he can give me some insight into what it may be. I am not certain that he will reply, it may be that he just waits to check it out on Friday, as I am certain that he can’t really predict anything until he check it out. Yes….this is so scarey to me…sleepless nights and butterflies are what I am living with these days.
Thanks again!

I had thought that too. Dave says, we will just have to wait and see what Friday and the scan brings. Ohhh…the wait is just so intense! Deep breaths!

I am saying!!! We certainly do not need more lumps!! I wondered if it could be some sort of scar tissue. He got an infection, and they had to open up the staples to drain it, and I just wonder if it could be something associated with that. Our scan is this Friday, and our Doc is in St Louis at Barnes, so I suppose I will wait to find out something then. Our scan is at 12:00, and we meet with the doc at 1:30 to get the results, and discuss chemo.
I am praying that Teddy has great results with his scan tomorrow too!!
Thanks so much!!
ladybug02142004SpectatorKris,
I am praying that all goes well for you, and that surgery is successful for you! I am sending good vibes your way! Keepin the faith with you!
Hugs to you!
