SpectatorI am keeping everything crossed for positively GOOD news for you tomorrow; that they find the blockage & sort it out. No one is born with a set expiration date & the one thing the doctors keep telling my sister is that they just don’t know. They don’t know how long she’ll live – & equally they don’t know when she’ll die. Many people on here have well outlived their initial prognosis. I was told if they couldn’t get my sister’s bile draining & clear her jaundice we were talking a matter of weeks … BUT they DID get it draining; they DID clear the jaundice & she’s coming up to her 1st anniversary now.
Please let us know how you all get on. We’re here for you.
Hugs from London

SpectatorDear Jtoro, I wish there was something I could say or do which would help you banish your worries, but I’m sending lots of good thoughts & positive vibes your way.

SpectatorAndie – My sister had a bad time recently, when the fear & pain & worry of the past year just walloped her like a sledgehammer. I was so afraid she was “turning her face to the wall” but I’m glad to say she wasn’t; it was an episode which she got through & regained her appetite & her enthusiasm. I’m hoping you will find the same with your Dad.
I do so understand how hard it is sometimes to hold yourself together when you’re focussing on someone else but you do need a break. I hope you have a good week in Wales & can come back refreshed.
My best to you all.

SpectatorLainy, I hope you have a trip filled with wonderful memories. My sister is on oxycontin & oxynorm (which I’m assuming are oxycodone by another name) & YES she is permanently sleepy. I’ve realised she can have a coherent conversation in that state, but rarely remembers it.

SpectatorI’m so sorry to hear of your loss, Annette. Significant dates are so painful when you’ve lost someone – particularly the “firsts”.

SpectatorHello & Welcome, ptimmerman
Yes, you can still get the wristbands – I wear mine all the time & always carry a few extras in my bag “in case of a sudden friendship” (as my mother always used to say).
If you go to the Home page, you’ll find a tab down the righthand edge (I think it says “purchase wristbands” or “order wristbands” but I can’t check without leaving this page & losing my post!!)
Please come & join us on the boards & tell us your story. It’s a wonderful site.
