SpectatorWelcome, welcome, Bill & Jenny. Please keep talking to us – I certainly didn’t get tired reading your post. Like Kathy, I’d like to know why you’ve said no to chemo if it was recommended as being suitable; my sister’s on the Gem/Cis combination & it seems to be keeping tumour progression at bay.
My very best wishes & good luck with your stents.

I cannot add anything to the advice & suggestions others have given you, but I would like to welcome you here, too. I’m thinking of you & your family.

SpectatorMy sister’s just recovered from the Winter Vomiting norovirus which they thought, at first, may have been a stent blockage. There are some horrible viruses out there, which may not be initially related to the CC but the effects of which may be aggravated by it. I hope they get the problem identified & sorted quickly. My best wishes to you & your dad.

SpectatorHello Val – I’ve been “away” for a while, too, as I got completely overwhelmed, so I fully understand the need for distance at times. I’m very glad you’re doing well & look forward to you popping on here occasionally to pass on more & more good news from your doctors.
I’m delighted with the CCF Facebook page – it’s great to be able to see people & hear how they’re are doing & to integrate both parts of my life. (As Marion has said on another recent post, “Our new

SpectatorWhat wonderful posts, Janet – thank you for the updates. I hope everything’s going well at home.
Val recommended Manuka honey to me when my sister was having a very bad time & we’re both incredibly impressed with it. I hope it helps you, too.
Very best wishes

SpectatorDear Irene – I’m so sorry you’re having such a rough time. My sister is on Gemcitabine & Cisplatin & neither of us has asked for a timescale. She’s had bad times on the regime – but overall she’s doing very well & we both believe her QOL is massively enhanced with it, rather than without. Of course, I have no idea what I would do if I were in her position, but I genuinely believe I’d choose the same as she has & go the chemo route.
I do NOT think renewing your magazine subscriptions was a bad idea; in fact I think you should keep up a rolling renewal because there is NO set expiration date. If there’s anything I’ve learned from this site (& I’ve learned a lot here) it’s that!!
Keep coming back & telling us how you’re getting on – & if you ever work out what you want to be when you grow up, please tell me … because I’m older than you & I have NO idea!!!

SpectatorHello Michael – my sister is on Gem/Cis & complained recently of being really cold but had a raging temperature. I was told to get her to hospital to be checked out if her temperature exceeded 38C. She hasn’t had low white blood count but she gets very, very tired (she can fall asleep in the middle of a sentence – & then wake up & continue where she left off, with no knowledge of what’s happened in the meantime).
It all sounds to be part of the disease & I was told just to keep an eye on her symptoms. I send my very best wishes to you & your family.

SpectatorDear Sharon – I’m so sorry. I’ve been away from the boards for a few weeks so this posting is very late, but I’m thinking of you & your family. I hope you are being gentle with yourself & are starting to regain your strength.
Love Julia
