Hi I hope you wont mind me joining on to this thread,I didnt quite find it right away.I feel as if Im in such a different position to everyone-I have a son with a mental health problem and things have been so hard without my husband.I miss him so much Janet
magicSpectatorHi Rose so your back on track again.I hope you had kind people looking after you when you had that stent done yet again!Im thinking of you on the other side of the world and wishing you better times
kind regards JanetmagicSpectatorSo sorry Janet
magicSpectatorHi there and good luck
JanetmagicSpectatorHi and welcome .I am an English migrant(as a teenager)living in Australia with some Italian extended family so its good to add to the mix on the site
JanetmagicSpectatorI used to work in radiology and we used to do them under ultrasound-we had a doctor very skilled in ultrasound procedures. We had them down to a fine art and none of the palliative patients needed to stay long. With the pleural drainage there is more risk of puncturing the lung but with the peritoneal cavity its probably infection or drop in bp.Actually my husband had a paracentesis done at home and luckily I was able to assist the doctor with it Janet
magicSpectatorRose may-what an ordeal!you poor thing,I m really crossing my fingers for that surgery to go to plan thinking of you and kind regards Janet
magicSpectatorI think you need to wait for the review with the specialist.Your dad is not well and I think you will face some difficult times. It sounds as if the right treatment has been started kind regards Janet
magicSpectatorCongratulations Amy I am lucky to have some younger nephews and neices and I enjoy them so much Good luck Janet
magicSpectatorHi there what a terrible time for you-you must feel so worried and confused.Sometimes illnesses can develop very quickly just get as much support as you can to help you with it
kind regards JanetmagicSpectatorHi there how stressful for you-try and get all the help and support you can-real and online.Chemo can cause all sorts of side effects but then so can other complications of these illnesses so it needs medical input.
kind regards and wishes JanetmagicSpectatorBarbara I wonder why he has to stay overnight,I would have thought a few hours observation would be sufficient. Is it being done in a Radiology department or in a ward situation?
JanetmagicSpectatorPam and others I think the anticipatory grief is a complete nightmare actually.I think you are full of fears that you will completely fall apart and be overwhelmed with grief when your loved one actually dies and that you will be unable to function at all.Well I think you switch on to automatic and get through. On another note the ocean has helped me a lot and I have swum in it every day since my husband was diagnosed last October.Im in the southern hemisphere and the water is warm now.I will have to settle for walks in the Winter
kind regards JanetmagicSpectatorHi Tess sorry about your dad I know the feeling of losing a father mine was an amazing man and I still miss him after 6 years Janet
magicSpectatorH Tracy what an ordeal you have been through and it makes it harder when you know what to expect. We had a nice funeral too with some favourite songs-funerals these days are not what they were are they
