    Victor,

Wonderful to hear that the consult went so well and you have a plan to move forward for the New Year. Feeling comfortable and trusting your doctor is so important.

    Hi Julie,

So glad to see you back :) Mom spent past two weeks baking cookies and is now fighting bronchitis-we can deal with that. Hopefully meds will have her better by next week and very happy that her sugar cookies are in my freezer.

    love and hugs,
    Catherine

    Kris-

So nice to see you back, but it would have been fine if it was just to say hi. So sorry to hear the gloves have to come back out.

I hope it’s an easy and quick course back to the chronic illness patient.

    Best wishes,
    Catherine

    Hi Steph,

Very happy you took the leap and came forward. Although it does seem that we are seeing far too many people who are getting diagnosed at such young ages. Already you have been through so much in the last year. It’s great to hear that you not only got into the trail, but it’s working on the tumors. I hope they quickly find something to alleviate/treat the bone mets as well.

    Best wishes and welcome!!!!

    Scott-
I love you and your family. without having met you , I am blessed to have a valedictorian /fulbright kid that somehow I gave birth to However, the one thing growing up that I told her was that the most important thing was to be a nice person. Obviously you have raised some amazing kids. I look at my life, and if it ended tomorrow, I know that I am proud of the kid we raised. You should be too.

    hugs,

    Dear Gavin-

You”ll be in my thoughts today. Although 6 years, I know he’s still very deeply missed. The dedication you have to all of us is such a tribute to his memory.

    xoxo,

    Dear Sharon,

Welcome to our group . Although this is a rare cancer, there are still far too many and I loathe every time it touches another family. Mom did 3 cycles of Gem/Cis (total of 9 weeks) and it did get better as it went along oncethey upped her fluids and adjusted the meds. We found that the steroids (dexamethesone) that were given in hospital before the chemo and also taken at home (days 2-4) helped with the nausea, and also gave her a bit more energy. However, unlike some here, I doubt she would have been up to a workday.

    Best wishes,
    Catherine

Hi. Bumping this to top. I’m waiting for my credit card cycle to close and then planning on putting a little light up in remembrance of Duke. Check out the lighta candle post on homepage.

Let’s light up the night and fight this
