Hi Campbell,
Welcome to our group. I’m sorry that I don’t know much about CBD, but if you use the search functions, other posts may come up. I think Wileygirl hasn’t posted since June, so not sure if she’ll be monitoring the boards. However, for most of us 9and maybe her), unless you opted out while signing up, you can click on the Bolded name to the left of the post, and it will allow you to send a direct email.
If you have the time to post a bit about yourself under the introduction section, there may be more who will see your post and be able to help you out with questions.
Also, if you haven’t been there yet, the newly diagnosed section on the homepage may help you out.

Catherinemiddlesister1ModeratorIrene,
Mom did 3 cycles of chemo (Gem/Cis) and then had 2 treatments with radioactive microspheres (SIRT). She’s being treated at Univ of MD. For the past year, we just go in for CT scans and blood work every 3 -4 months and will stay treatment-free until it comes back.
Take care,
CatherineDecember 4, 2015 at 11:31 am in reply to: Advice Needed: Drs Recommend Whipple But Are Unsure If I Have CC #90636middlesister1ModeratorGambit-
My Mom had an aborted resection- it’s when they plan on going in and removing the tumor, but once in surgery and opened up, they see that the tumor has spread or is impacting areas that make removal not feasible. We are fortunate that with great doctors t and a lot of luck, she is still with us today and feeling great, but we much prefer to hear about successful resections with clean margins.
Take care,
Catherinemiddlesister1ModeratorDear Irene-
Welcome to our group. So sorry that this disease wrecked havoc with your birthday (and much more I’m sure). I hope that the doctors figure out a treatment plan that gets it under control so you can celebrate many more happy birthdays. My Mom was diagnosed at 73 and is doing great now 2 years later.
Let us know how you make out.
Best wishes,
Catherinemiddlesister1ModeratorSusie-
Thanks for sharing how well you’re doing; it’s especially lousy when we hear of young people like you and Cait getting hit with CC, but it makes it a bit more tolerable when there are positive outcomes.
Cait- Welcome. I’m not sure how I missed your original posts. It sounds like you have been very quickly emerged into the world of CC, but it also sounds like you have a great medical team and a plan for moving forward and beating it.
One thread I liked from the boards was helpful suggestions for first chemo days. It may have some lessons learned that could help in addition to your chemo training.

Best wishes-
Catherinemiddlesister1ModeratorScott, although you are already a superman to us, chemo is tough and even having days where getting out of PJs was too hard was not unheard of for my Mom. The first cycle was the worst and we ended up in the ER for dehydration. Eating and exercise is all great, but don’t push too hard. Now we look back on the chemo times and say they were lousy but well worth it. I am amazed when I read of those who are fully functional on chemo (especially gem/cis) . Take care of yourself and let the drugs go to work.
Hugs,
Catherinemiddlesister1ModeratorMatt, I love the graphic and the tremendous downward turn. I am so happy for you!
Best wishes for more great results,
Catherinemiddlesister1ModeratorHi Carol-

middlesister1ModeratorDear Kevin,
I’m very sorry to read this post, but agree that Mum being at peace and no longer in pain are things that I hope have been bringing you some comfort. From you posts, it was so evident how much you loved her and that you did do the best anyone could hope for.
Take care of yourself and keep in touch to let us know how you are.
Catherine
middlesister1ModeratorFingers are crossed for you!
middlesister1ModeratorMatt-

Catherine
middlesister1ModeratorScott,
Not sure how long the drive is to MD, but we can always fit for for dinner and being thankful for good news. They keep telling me we don’t need 10 lbs of potatoes for 12 people, but they like taking leftovers home. It will be 60 and sunny here.I’d count that as an outstanding report.
Happy 24th Nov.
Catherinemiddlesister1ModeratorCarol,
I’m so very happy that everything was a success for all but especially you and your mum. Lainy is a few hours behind us, but I know she is going to be very excited (especially with regards to the feather) when she reads this post. Thank you for taking on such a generous undertaking.
Best wishes,
Catherinemiddlesister1ModeratorDaisy,
I love waking up to such good news. It should be wonderful to have your Mom treatment-free and feeling good. for the holidays.

I want to add my welcome as well and suggest as Lainy mentioned if you could report under introductions, more may see. I’m sorry your father has been diagnosed with CC. It is sometimes very hard to diagnose and often symptoms do not show up until it is very far advanced.I searched on “Vet” and found discussion below. I hope something may be helpful.
