ModeratorHi,
Since Lainy is off for a bit, I’m sorry I can’t offer advice (Mom had unsuccessful surgery), but wanted to add a YIPPEE!!! Successful surgeries and clean margins are worth celebrating.
Looking forward to many more great updates.

ModeratorDear Serena,
I agree with the ER trips. During chemo, we went twice to get IV fluids, and still kick ourselves for waiting too long the first time. It was very hard to get her dressed and into the car for the trip, but the treatments improved how she was feeling significantly. We had some low fever after SIRT, but never from chemo. I would err on side of caution and at least call ONC if not go to ER. One note, we did not go all the way back to Univ of MD, but went to local ER. If you let them know she’s on chemo, they should move you immediately back to a private waiting room so she was not in an ER when her immune system is compromised.
I hope all goes well,

ModeratorI am also one of those who often feel that since I am not a patient, and additionally we are so fortunate up to this time that Mom is exceeding expectations, that maybe I should keep it to ourselves out of respect for others. At the same time, when I met with Mom’s IR last time and thought she was the only one surviving so long w/o surgery and doing so well, he said that she may be “not the majority,” but in no way the first; he said many other hospitals are having the same positive results. So, I am thankful when I see the “real” results from good news stories here that may not be reflected in the statistics.
I agree with Marion, keep it all coming.
Treasure each day and love to all,

ModeratorAnne,
What a wonderful update! We appreciate everyone taking the time to check in, but the good news ones really make my day. It also gives hope that there is progress being made in new ways to treat CC.
Have a great day,
Catherine
