Hi,
My dad was in the hospital for the last four weeks. They found an infection with a streptococcus anginosus and received treatment for this. His chemo was delayed and the cancer spread to the liver and pancreas. Now he is at home,is ok,but has a persistent bloating.None of the medicine that he took didn’t help him so I am asking you about some remedies that worked for you or for your loved ones.At the ultrasound it appeared that he hasn’t ascites.. but this bloating is annoying.
Thanks!
paulandreiMemberHi,
When i said that my dad came home, i didn’t know that he was sent home by his request. I was dissapointed when I heard that because he needed a couple of days of careful care. Yesterday he had another episode of chills(without fever this time) and today started coughing(with fever). Because his oncologist is on vacation,we talked to another doctor to prescribe him an antibiotic ( because paracetamol wasn’t enough for him).
I hope he will be better the next couple of days.
paulandreiMemberHi,
Thanks for information,Gavin. My father was hospitalized three days ago because of persistent chills and loss of consciousness.I talked to the oncologist that day and she told me to come the next day with my father at the hostpital. But in that afternoon he was sick and we went to the hospital. After antibiotics, he had a blood transfusion and now is at home, better. It seems that because of his low immune system he had a flu and because of anemia he had low blood pressure.I talked to another doctor and he told me that treatment with taxotere is a good option for him(after he looked on the biopsy).
Now i hope that he will be better and better and do the next cycle of chemo.
Thank you all,
Paul
paulandreiMemberI will ask the onc for sure because his anemia may be from an internal bleeding, from the portal vein thrombosis..
paulandreiMemberHi,
I spoke with other surgeon and for sure a surgery is not possible for him(his tumour is about 5 cm). Also radiotherapy is not possible for him because of his left portal vein thrombosis.. His hemoglobin is now 8(before treatment was 10) and it seems that the only possible treatment for him is chemotherapy. Tomorrow i will talk to another oncologist to see if taxotere is good for him.
Could you suggest some foods,supplements.. for anemia that worked for you?Thank you for all your support and God bless you all,it is fantastic what you are doing here.
paulandreiMemberanyone..?
