Sharimay I will certainly share your chemo experience with my mom. I don’t want to persued her to take the treatments if she really doesn’t want to. I have read your’s and others experience with chemo. I’ve told her that if after 1 five or even ten treatments that she wants to stop she can. I just want every minute I can with her and think down the road she might wonder what if I tried the chemo. Spending the day in the kitchen with my mom, sister and brother. It’s going to be a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing with me Sharimay. Have a wonderful day yourself.

sinbadMemberThank you all for your wonderful words of encouragement. You’re right we don’t have an expiration date on our feet. This is all so new and so unreal to me. Your posts are truly helping and finally I think that maybe I can get a few hours of sleep. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. Love never ends.
Goodnight
TracysinbadMemberTruly beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

sinbadMemberToday is day two since we were told about the disease. We went to see another doctor today. He basically just confirmed what we were told yesterday. My mom’s initial reaction was that she wasn’t going to take chemo because she’s watched in horror two family members get really sick from the treatments. Today she is contemplating taking the chemo and if she is really sick then she can stop it. It’s really helped me reading what others have and are experiencing during and after their treatments. She was diagonsed at stage 3C and her doctor said if she does the chemo it could be up to a year. I want to spend all the time I can with her now. She is feeling good and the biliruben is under control. It’s hard to believe she’s sick. I just can’t imagine what we are all going to go through. We have an in-law suite in our home and that’s where she’s been for the past ten years. My partents divorced 25 years ago and she is pretty much a home body. She has her three childern my self and two other siblings. We are all very close. I have two boys ages nine and twelve and Grammie is like their second mom. I know we will all some how get through this but can’t even imagine what the road ahead will be like. Tomorrow will be a good day. I’m spending it with my mom.

The cancer is in the bile duct and surrounding lymthnodes. It hasn’t spread to any organs yet. We were told that she has just 6 months. Maybe a year if she does chemo. Surgery and radiation is not an alternative. Should we seek a second opion? Maybe the Ontario Cancer Center. Does anyone know if there is one closer to where we live? Maybe Halifax, Nova Scotia or…
We were told this is a very rapid cancer so if there’s anything anyone can help us with. I just don’t know what to do or where to go from here. Thanks,
Tracy
