i have send you an email giving my opinion about your brother. No one can tell you as how long any body survives. there are many factors attributed to life and death. CC In india and pakistan is rare . its the very old psyche and old teachings in 80s and 90s. there are lots of changes in the management and early detection of the case which cures or prlonges the life un heard in india and pakistan by yesterdoctors. Iam the living example with CC detected in 2007 july resected in march 2008 and living with perfect health and work. i had trekked 15000 ft nathullpass last oct08 and even till this day doing marathon walks of 25k every month and mind you never rested but for the 4weeks during surgery . its the attitute that is every thing . be positive . Dr Mahipal reddyDear DR.Mahipal
I am really very thankful to your detail answer and very positive thinking to hope fully for my brother.I pray for you GOD will give you long and healthy life.

Sending all my best wishes to you and your brother!

I want also one thing that here in Pakistan and India Doctors are saying the life of Cholangiocarcinoma patient is 12 to 18 months maximum and my brother has passed 12 months after first diagnosed so they are are saying its enough now your brother life is not more than 4 to 6 months. So I requested all of you can you let me know exactly or atleast as per your expereince and knowledge how much is life expected of cholangiocarcinoma patient and specially after reading my brother case for him.

AsiftheasifMemberdevoncat wrote:I am sorry your brother is facing this. It is hard on family and friends as well. I had a very wonderful surgeon in Edinburgh at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary…his name was Professor Garden. It is a wonderful place. Other people in Britain have highly reccommended Prof. Lodge (I think in Liverpool?). I now live in Sweden and really cant recommend anyone here…I feel like I am teaching the doctors about this cancer. There are several good centers in the US and if you look under the section newly diagnosed, there is a list of hospitals that have experience in treating this cancer. Many doctors will accept your brothers medical files and scans and offer an opinion without meeting you. Just contact them or their department with the information.
I hope you find what you need.
