Treatment at UTSouthwestern has been outstanding. I am Stage IIIa ECC.
Dr. Yopp performed my Whipple robotically. In and out of the hospital in 5 days.
Dr. Beg has been my medical oncologist for the past year and been so good to work with. Six months on capecitabine ended in Oct 2021. Dr. Beg has moved into research so I will switch to Dr. Hsieh next visit in 90 days.
Nurses, staff, facilities all terrific.Thought to revive this thread once more. Your information is greatly appreciated.

On December 19, 2014 I had a successful liver transplant (living liver donor) for intrahepatic cholangio. I was treated and continue my follow up care at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and I can’t say enough about these amazing doctors.

Dr. Charles Rosen and Dr. Julie Heimbach – Transplant surgeonI did 6+ months of adjuvant chemotherapy at Johns Hopkins here in Maryland where I live, but followed a Mayo Clinic protocol of gem/cis and really consider my main doctors those on my “team” in Minnesota. I am just over two years cancer free and I truly believe the Mayo Clinic is responsible for this survivorship!
Please be so kind and share your treating physicians names with us. It’s greatly appreciated. This thread has been viewed in excess of 90 thousand times. Clearly it fills an enormous need.

I am also greatly appreciative of my surgeon and his team at Columbia Presbyterian.
It is still a little early in the game for me, but I currently feel that I have received a second chance on life… for as long as it takes me. I want to use some of that time to try to help others that are being impacted by cc.

I had a successful liver resection in April, 2015 by Dr. Jean Emond at Columbia Presbyterian in NYC. Dr. Emond and multi-disciplinary team utilized some cutting-edge surgical techniques, while other leading doctors did not consider me a surgical candidate.
Afterwards, I had adjuvant chemotherapy with Dr. Stephen Grabelsky at Lynn Cancer Institute in Boca Raton near where I live. Dr. Grabelsky, the nurses, and my foot masseuse(!) helped me through the process.
I couldn’t be any happier with my difficult choice for treatment options and care during those life- threatening months.
Going to Phoenix (Gilbert), Arizona MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Kundranda is the gastro specialist. He and the staff are very nice. I need to ask more questions.
The Chemo on 3rd floor is wonderful. Great nurses, volunteers, food. drink, private rooms with TVs. Plus the place has valet parking and that makes me happy.

Dr. Patricia Jones – Hepatologist
Dr. Lynn Feun – hematologist-oncologistBoth at the Sylvester Cancer Research Center of the University of Miami.
We also got a possible referral for Dr. Yakoub (surgeon) and I am aware that there is a Dr. Merchan (heme-onc) on the tumor board as well, but we have not seen them.

Third update for me! I’m now enrolled in another clinical trial with Dr. Nevena Damjanov at Penn Presbyterian Abrahams Medical Center. It’s a longer drive, but in 8 weeks it’s working!
And I still get to see Dr. Denlinger at Fox Chase every once in a while so I’m happy. Dr. Damjanov is a very caring onc, too. I feel like I’ve known her longer than I have.
