I have not had personal experience with these but after some research, these two come up often as highly recommended when dealing with CC:

    Barnes Jewish Hospital
    Washington University
    St. Louis, MO

    Mayo Clinic
    Rocheter, MN

My husband, Ted, has been treated by the following doctors:

Dr. Pawlik performed an 8 hour surgery on Ted, but a liver resection was not possible due to the extent of the tumor. He took out his gall bladder and performed a Roux en y to allow better drainage for the bile which has been instrumental in keeping his GI area functioning properly. Dr. Pawlik is highly regarded in this area of surgery and has performed many successful liver resections.
Dr. Timothy Pawlik, (Surgeon Specializes in Bilary Surgery)
    Johns Hopkins Hospital
    600 N. Wolfe Street
    Halsted 614
    Baltimore, Maryland 21287

2nd Opinion Doctors (Kansas City, Kansas area)
Dr. Joaquina Beranda (Oncologist – Specializing in Liver and Bilary Cancers)
    The University of Kansas Hospital
Westwood Cancer Center & Medical Pavilion
    2330 Shawnee Mission Parkway
    Westwood, Ks. 66205

Dr. Eashwer K. Reddy (Radiation Oncologist)
    The University of Kansas Hospital
    3901 Rainbow Boulevard
    Kansas City, Ks. 66160
Our 2nd opinion doctors helped set us up with treatment plans and the doctors we currently see in Wichita, Ks.

Current doctors we are receiving treatment from in our hometown of Wichita, Kansas

    Dr. Parvan Reddy (Oncologist)
    Cancer Center of Kansas
    818 N. Emporia
    Wichita, Ks 67214

Dr. Joseph Kelley, M.D. (Radiation Oncologist)
    Via Christi Cancer Center
    817 N. Emporia
    Wichita, Ks. 67214

We have truly been blessed to have received excellent care from all of these wonderful doctors. Their knowledge and expertise have been crucial in helping us make decisions and giving us strength.

Mom goes to IU Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Attila Nakeeb was the surgeon who did her Whipple procedure and her hernia surgery… we loved him!
    Romne Clark is her oncologist
Higinia Cardenes is her radiation oncologist

We have been so fortunate. They are all wonderful to work with! It is so helpful, because they all work together and keep each other updated on how Mom is doing.

If you need to find a good oncologist and live in a small town far from any big cancer centers, I highly recommend asking every doctor and nurse you know (even socially) about who they would want treating them if they got cancer.

I live in a town of 10,000 in central Kentucky, and that’s how I found my wonderful, wonderful oncologist– a nurse I’m friends with told me about him. (The one I had at the University of Kentucky cancer center was a gloomy, pessimistic, unhelpful dork.)

Gary’s surgeon is Dr. Douglas Tyler at Duke. His oncologists are Dr. Rebecca Cody in Conway, SC and Dr. Mark Moskowitz in Naples, FL.

My treatment center in Tampa, FL, is H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute (aka Moffitt).

My surgeon is Mokenge (Mo) Malafa, Division Chief, Gastrointestinal Malignancies

    My oncologist is Jonathan Strosberg

My radiologists are Sarah Hoffe and Michael Yu

I am at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.

Surgical Oncologist is Dr Alice Wei 416-340-4232, Medical Oncologists are Dr Jennifer Knox 416-946-2399 and Dr Anne Horgan, and Radiation Oncologist is Dr Rebecca Wong.

I am being treated at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

My oncologist in Dr Tim Hobday.

My surgeon for resection was Dr. David Nagorney. (Great guy, gave me the oportunity that others would not)

For those of you who would like to share the names of the physicians and centers treating you (or have treated you) this might be a good place to share the information.

    Thanks a bunch,
