Hi all, I met with Dr. Michael Hart of Swedish Hospital today. He wants to go ahead and do surgery to resect the tumor. I’m not sure exactly when that will be yet, as he and Dr. Raish want me off chemo for a bit before they cut me open. They are probably going to take out half of the liver to make sure that they get all of the cancer. I guess I’m not going to any wine tasting parties any time soon!

I’ll also be losing a few more body parts – gall bladder and bile ducts. Part of my intestine will be rerouted to drain the liver directly into the small intestines. This is a complicated surgery, and I’ll probably be in the hospital for one-two weeks and off work 6-8 weeks. But thanks be to God, I can hope for a complete cure.

So my message to you all is – never give up hope! Six months ago I was given 3 weeks to live. I’m still alive, kicking, and in good health, looking forward to my new live as a cancer survivor.
