Hi Teresa! Good to hear from you and I hope you are doing well. It’s always good to see family stop by and we do understand how hard it can be. Don’t ever apologize for taking breaks. I always say, life sometimes just gets in the way. But great to see you and take care.!
June 27, 2014 at 10:02 pm #81453rainMemberAll,
I am sorry to all that I have been absent for a while. I would read posts regularly however if I had to be honest I needed a bit of a break ( I sometimes just need to read only the positive posts)Percy , I can only echo what everyone has already said. The strength you personally gave me when my father was diagnosed with metastatic disease was inspirational, all the more because you are also affected by it.
I wish all the best for you and I will add you to my prayers.
All the best
TeresaMay 2, 2014 at 2:29 pm #81452okansasSpectatorPercy, Mary and all of you who are fighting this horrible disease. I’m sending up prayers for you and your caregivers.
Having watched my husband fight this disease, I have so much admiration for the courage and bravery that each of you display. I know it isn’t any consolation, but you are all heroes to me.
Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts your worries your fears. Many of us have been there or have been with a loved one who has been there. This forum is for you. In hindsight, I wish I’d known more and had my eyes wide open while helping my husband, especially at the end. We both would have been better prepared.
So I advocate for sharing more about the reality of this disease and the path it takes, not less.
Peace and love to each of you,
MargaretMay 2, 2014 at 2:51 am #81451dukenukemMemberHold the torch high so the rest of us can follow you. We can’t physically help you along but know that our thoughts and prayers go out to you. When you need strength, close your eyes and open your mind – we’re there for you, just like you’ve been there for us.
April 22, 2014 at 1:15 am #81450mcwgoatSpectatorThanks for your words of encouragement Percy. They mean a lot to me. I hope we both can enter the “promised land” soon and get at least a bit of a break from this disease.
Mary
April 21, 2014 at 6:59 pm #81449lainySpectatorOK you 2, I will cheer for the CUBS as well. The Brewers are eh and the PHX Cardinals are eh, so will take up your cause. Go CUBS! Am I fickle or what?

April 21, 2014 at 3:36 pm #81447willowSpectatorGreat to hear from you, Percy, though my heart aches. I hope you make it to the World Series to enjoy a game with Carl!
April 21, 2014 at 3:19 pm #81446pcl1029MemberHi,Mary,
I understand completely how you feel.
This is an up and down roller coaster ride with no end in sight.
It is a day by day , mind over matter, a faith challenging event that leave you and I speechless, hopeless and wandering in the Sinai desert like Moses , at the most we can see the promised land but cannot enter it at this point in time.Take good care of yourself, having this disease is really a challenge .
God bless.
April 21, 2014 at 3:07 pm #81445pcl1029MemberHi, Carl,
Thanks for your offer for picking me up to go to see a Cubs game, especially you are living in PA. The Cubs is celebrating it’s 100 years birthday this year with lots of specials like you can eat different kinds of hot dogs for each different decades. I promise I will go with you to see the Cubs if they will be in the World Series . But I really appreciate your kindness. I know you are a doer and not a talker base on our communication over the time we have met.
You have a strong desire to help the patients on this board and you would love to contribute your professional skill to help others. You are a practical person. Thanks, Carl .
God bless.April 20, 2014 at 10:41 pm #81444RandiSpectatorI am at a loss for words here. Percy, My thoughts and prayers are with you, for quality of life, for freedom from pain, for renewed motivation and hope.

April 20, 2014 at 3:16 am #81441mcwgoatSpectatorHi Percy,
I, too, can only echo what the others say here. You are so special to this board and you go above and beyond to help us understand so much. If I were to name all you do for us, it would fill MANY posts.
Now is your time to rest and hopefully you will get your motivation back. Five years is a long time to go through this horrible disease. I have been three years and it is wearing in me.
Please stay strong for yourself and know that we all love and care for you.
Peace, Love and Many Hugs to you,
MaryApril 20, 2014 at 1:16 am #81440scheitrumcSpectatorPercy,
Would you be up for going to a Cubs game ?
I will pick you up and get you there and back home. I don’t care who they are playing. I’ve never been inside the stadium. I would love to watch a day game at Wrigley.
Take care my friend,
Carl
