Well, at least you don’t have to have any surgeries right now…..I know the scans will turn out fine so I will just keep my fingers crossed that the Remicade really kicks in and no more new medications. I would hate to think that you went through all that with the Remicade and had to switch it up.

    Love,

    Lainy,

I do know how hot it gets, but as us Wisconsinites also know, it’s not so humid like here and never have to deal with cold & snow, either. I always figured if it is hot in the Phoenix area you go north to Flagstaff and it is cooler and if it is cold go south to Tucson where it’s warmer. I must say that the older I get, the less I care about the really warm weather, but it still beats the cold & snow. :)

My most recent “girls” day was this past Wednesday, but not as exciting as yours sounds. We met for lunch. Still a fun time. We have all been friends for years as couples and are now all widows and over 60, too. Imagine that. We try to get together at least once a month.

I love the Scottsdale area. Have a fun time!

    Hugs,
    Darla

Darla, you are welcome to join in our “blethering” anytime. I believe the word means like chatting. So we do it with a cuppa (tea) as I can’t even stand the aroma of coffee. No need to tell you how hot it is here already. But its OK as I mostly don’t go anywhere lately. I AM going out with the girls Friday night coming up and I am so excited as it will be the first time out to have some fun in 2 months! We are going to a Restaurant/Karaoke place in Scottsdale where almost everyone is over 60! Taking my Get Out Of Jail FREE card!

Hey! Can I get in on this blethering? Sounds like a fun time. :) The weather here is finally decent. The rain must have moved on to Scotland. :) Hugs to both you and mum from me, too.

    Love,
    Darla

Gavin, my son from another Mum. I have a good feeling that when the time comes for a visit we will blether into another year! Give Mum a hug for me!

Did someone mention clothes shopping???? I’m so there!!! :)

Thanks for the update Momma, you know I have my fingers crossed for you for everything. But gotta say, if we went clothes shopping it would take waay more that an hour! Plus we’d have to have lunch and stop for a few cuppa’s too so it would be an all day event. Throw in the blethering too and yep, definitely all day at least!

    Love ya,

    Gavin

Margaret, funny you should say that about Teddy shopping. I really dislike it but he was a total shopper. OMG! For example he had made Sauce his whole life and always used Hunts Tomato Sauce and Paste. BUT every time he was grocery shopping he would still pick up the Hunts cans and read them! When we went Clothes shopping we would check our watches and he would go to the mens and I to the womens and we would meet in an hour. I always had to end up in the mens. But you are right about his sense of humor. And that is exactly how we got through everything. BTW, you all know how much I believe and yet he has not been around for about 2 months now. Guess he is busy getting his angel wings (could be a tad harder for a Sicilian) and I will hear again when he is ready! Another BTW, as one gets older sometimes it is hard to take the acid in the canned tomato sauce. I will share a secret….after you get the sauce going and it is simmering, toss in about a tablespoon of Baking Soda and watch the acid bubble up and disappear! It also sweetens the sauce so no sugar is needed.

    Lainy,
It was nice getting your update and so glad to hear that it’s good news.

Just hate the idea of MD visits as entertainment, but who knows, maybe that’s where Teddy will arrange for you to meet a new companion. Teddy does have a great sense of humor, after all, from what you’ve told us. And I’m sure you brighten any waiting room, just the way you brighten our lives here on the forum.

I’m hoping the summer will bring even more good news — enjoy getting out to do a little shopping — and I’m sure Teddy will send you a few signs that he’s out and about with you. ~

    Hugs to you!
    Margaret

Not saying losing weight from being sick is a good thing, but at least you are going out to buy smaller sizes. The weather here has finally warmed up and trying on my summer clothing was not pretty. I may be out buying larger size capris. :(

Have fun on your trip out to shop not to go to a Doc. :) Just don’t over do it. Take it slow & easy.

Darla, thanks, I never doubt that I am NOT going to get better. I have to practice what I preach …..ATTITUDE.

Catherine you are so sweet, it’s just that compared to most on here I am not in their dire situation but I feel when you see I am on more sporadically its because I am having a tough time with side effects from the Meds. So far this infusion is working better and tomorrow I may go to get some new summer capris as my clothes are getting too big. Now when I say I am going shopping that means for an hour but it will feel good to go out and not be going to a DOC!

    Lainy-

Your subject line of “If I may” is so polite , but I’m sure you realize information on how you are is so welcome and desired by all of us that you take care of in this community. Can’t wait to hear the great results from the stomach MRI as well.

    Lainy,

Glad that all is good and I am sure that you will breeze through the rest with flying colors and can then relax and enjoy the rest of your summer. Take care.

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla
