Congratulations on your success! So happy things went well and for the money raised. I am sure your dad is smiling big!
MelindaNovember 24, 2015 at 1:14 am #88147marionsModeratorCarol…..wish I could have been there. You are well rewarded for the huge undertaking of this event and so is your Dad. Nicely done, Carol, you should be so very proud of yourself.

Excellent news! Sounds like a great night and I know that marie Curie will appreciate the donation so much and that it will go to very very good use as you know. And in the local paper as well, superb! Did they take any pics? Hope to get to read the piece in your paper if we can!
Hugs,
Gavin
November 23, 2015 at 3:36 pm #88145lainySpectatorWOWSER! Yes, Catherine knows me too well. Really, you all do, a little scary. LOL Oh, I am so happy on so many counts. First what an awesome amount you raised and I am sure all were very thrilled. Perhaps you can make it a yearly event! Did I tell you that you would be fine? Next First, Did I tell you DAD would be there? He is so happy and proud of You and Mum! LIFE IS GOOD.
Please relate to Mum that when she feels Dad is there or sees a sign, she should thank him for coming. It takes a big effort for him. I ALWAYS say, “Oh Teddy, thank you so much for coming and I love you so much.” In a way it is letting him know we are not scared of the visits and we want more. Works all the time. YIPPEE! Lets hear it for the girls across the pond!November 23, 2015 at 10:51 am #88144middlesister1ModeratorCarol,
I’m so very happy that everything was a success for all but especially you and your mum. Lainy is a few hours behind us, but I know she is going to be very excited (especially with regards to the feather) when she reads this post. Thank you for taking on such a generous undertaking.
Best wishes,
CatherineNovember 23, 2015 at 9:40 am #88143carol61SpectatorHi guys … The fundraiser was a HUGE success and we raised £1140 plus gift aid for Marie curie . The local newspaper reporter turned up and was very impressed with what we were doing and took a few pictures . It was very busy and as you guys says I didn’t get time to think !!! We all toasted my dad and all my friends and family had a fantastic night as everyone really enjoyed themselves !!! My mum got up the next morning and there was a white feather on the carpet in front of my dad’s chair!! Thanks for being here xxx
November 21, 2015 at 8:40 pm #88142marionsModeratorCarol….I am sending tons of good wishes for a successful gathering.

MarionNovember 20, 2015 at 10:04 pm #88141gavinModeratorGood luck with tonight Carol, I am sure that it will go very well indeed!! And 50 ladies there tonight. Yep, I am sure that your dad will be there as well!
Know what you mean about Christmas and yes, the thought of it is worse than the day itself. My dad died 2 weeks before Christmas in 09 and that was a very tough one to say the least.
Looking forward to hearing how tonight goes!
Hugs,
Gavin
November 20, 2015 at 10:09 am #88140lainySpectatorCarol try to think of Dad as being there and how proud and happy he is of what you are doing. Be alert for signs that he IS there. If you keep thinking of how sad you will be then yes, you will be sad. I will never forget at Teddy’s Memorial I focused on his Church Choir Director who was at a piano facing me. Every time I looked at him he would smile at me and give a wink. Honestly that got me through beautifully. In other words focus on other things. I am sure with 50 ladies around you, you will be kept VERY busy. Can’t wait to hear about it!
And for Christmas if you pick a couple of projects about Dad and focus on those projects that will also help.November 20, 2015 at 9:15 am #88139carol61SpectatorHi guys D day is here S it’s the Marie curie fundraiser tonight … We’ve over 50 ladies attending and I am sure dad will be there also …. I’ve mixed emotions this morning a d feeling quite sad as all the organising is coming to an end and that’s been our focus last couple of months!! We are both dreading Christmas and it’s a Shane as mum and I have always LOVED Christnas!!! I’m sure thinking about it will be worse than when the day comes or so I’ve been told …. I’ll let you know how tonight goes and I’m just hoping I can keep it together and don’t get too upset … Thanks for always being here xxxxxxxxxxx

It is so wonderful that you are doing something so positive to remember your dad. I can’t wait to hear all about it! Hugs to you.
MelindaNovember 15, 2015 at 7:21 pm #88132gavinModeratorHi Carol,
Great to hear from you again and I so know how tough these recent times will have been for you and your mum. That is great that you and your mum are attending the group at marie Curie as I know that they do so much good work there. And what a great idea to have the fund raiser for them at your mums house, I’m sure you will manage to squeeze everyone in!
Looking forward to hearing all about it and you know that we are always here for you as well.
Hugs,
Gavin
November 14, 2015 at 3:07 am #88137middlesister1ModeratorDear Carol thank you so much . I’m amazed every day by the people here who have lost love ones, but instead of walking away, give their energy, heart and souls to others. We are so fortunate to have people like you
