    Sallypa, I am starting on Oxaliplatin/Xeloda this Friday. Now I am worried about the severe side effects you mention your sister experiences. I will start on Medicare in March, 2013. So, I guess I will worry about that in a year!

    I received word today from my Oncologist’s office that my insurance provider has approved the Oxaliplatin for me. So, I will be receiving my first treatment this Friday!

    My Oncologist was hinting on Friday that at some point I might have to be in a clinical trial. He is running out of chemo options to treat me :-(

    I forgot to tell you what the best part of today was. When I got finished with the Dr., Grover and his wife Joan were sitting in the waiting room! It was so good to visit and talk to the both of them. They both really uplifted my spirits and gave me an attitude adjustment too!

    Well, I did not get the great news that I had hoped for. My oncologist said it was “mixed results”. Some of the tumors were smaller, and some of the tumors were slightly larger. So, next Friday, after insurance approval, I will be starting on Oxaliplatin/Xeloda. Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers!

    They always have trouble getting a blood return with my port. But they keep working with it until they get one. I really don’t know if you should be worried or not?? I will have to ask Friday when I go for chemo.
