I searched Trousseau’s Syndrome Cholangiocarcinoma and found this:

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2733966/

There were also other sites with similar info. All very interesting.

    Marion,

Thanks for posting this. It is very interesting and important to know. I do remember that when Jim started to get blood clots and the thinners weren’t helping to prevent them is when they started to look at cancer as the cause. I didn’t really understand it then and am not sure if I do even now, but knowing that it could be a sign of cancer is important in diagnoising CC and other cancers that like to hide & lurk in the body. This is the first information I have seen on the subject.

I totally agree. It was mentioned in my husband’s obituary. Some people having read it did ask me more about it. I also saw that post on face book, Julia. Yes, maybe finally we are beginning to raise awarness. For all of you planning to write your own obituaries, I too hope you won’t be needing them for a very long time to come.

    Matlida,

I am so sorry for what your Dad, you & your family are experiencing. Yes, it is very sad, emotional and also stressful for all of you. Maybe he should be taken in to emergency rather than waiting for tomorrow to see the oncologist if he is in so much pain. His comfort is most important and he should not have to be in such pain. There are other meds he can be given for the constipation and also for the anxiety and depression if necessary also. Know that I am thinking of all of you and hoping for the best.

    Love & Hugs,

    Hi Scraggles,

Sorry to hear that things are going so badly for your Mom. I think the main thing is to make sure she is kept comfortable and that she is not in pain. I know how hard this all is to even comprehend. I hope that your meeting today goes well and you can get some answers. My thoughts will be with you, your Mom & your family.

    Love & Hugs,

    Hello Everyone,

Yes, it has been another long hard winter for all of us (except for Janet who is just now getting into fall & winter) although I know Janet that you have had to deal with some stressful things recently and I hope that things have settled down some for you now. Hopefully with spring and summer on the way it will give us all a boost. Pauline, I hope your headaches have disappeared and you too are feeling better. Spending some time relaxing with all of you in Italy would be just great. It would be wonderful if we could figure out how to accomplish that. Some time in Tuscany sounds so nice. One of my favorite movies is “Under The Tuscan Sun”. What an adventure. And yes it would be a great chat. We all would have so much to say & to share.

Joyce, has your weather improved any? Here it had been unseasonable warm, then back to a week of cold & windy (atleast NO MORE SNOW!!!!) It is all gone and it looks like we may even get into the 70’s this week. I can’t wait!

Sue, what have you been up too? Hope things are going well for you.

Everyone take care and keep in touch it is nice to check in from time to time & see how everyone is doing.

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla

    Dear Debby,

I totally agree with what both Janet & Katie have said. Jim has been gone a a little over 1 1/2 years and I still feel the emptiness and pain. Everything you are feeling is normal for what you and your children are going through. All of us who have lost a loved one to this disease know what you are feeling & truely understand and sympathize. Grief is a very personal thing and everyones situation being slightly different, there are no set rules. Take all the time you need and do what ever works best for you and your children. It is a very slow and on going process. Our lives have been turned upside down and I don’t think it all every truely goes away. We just learn better how to live with it. I know how often I have wanted to say to people exactly what you are thinking. Sometimes I have tried to atleast say “not so good” or “I have good days & bad” but most just smile & change the subject. It seems to make them feel uncomfortable. How do they think we feel? I hope you are able to let those feelings out to someone who can listen & understand. Wether it be a close relative, friend or counsler. And know that you can always come here to vent & let it all out. We are all here to help each other. Take care Debby and know that I am thinking of you and your children.

    Hi Anne,

Glad to see you joined our “family”. You will be glad you did. I, like you feel that anything we can do to get the government to recognize that there is a connection is worth working for. Even if I don’t benefit from this, maybe it will help those that are affected in the future. Jim retired at 62, exactly 2 months to the day before he passed away. Take care Anne.

    Jeff,
I love them too. Back in the 60’s out in Long Beach where the Queen Mary is now was an amusement park called The Pike. It had this hugh old wooden roller coaster. It was the best! Loved it! My husband was not fond of heights, but I did get him to go on it with me once. Oh, the memories

    sigh

Anyway, I hope this bad roller coaster slows down for you guys soon and you can get off of it for a while! :)
