    Vicky Jo,

I agree with everything that Lainy & Marion have said. The most important thing right now is to be there for your Grandma and to make sure that she is comfortable. Come here whenever you need to for strength, support, help or even just to vent your feelings. You have found the best place to be when dealing with this horrible disease. You, your Grandma and your family are in my thoughts & prayers.

    Hello All,

I too hope that everyone is managing as well as possible.

Janet, sorry to hear that you have been low & not feeling well. Glad that you are somewhat improved now. How is work going? My Mom had both knees replaced at about the same age & did really well. I am hoping it will be the same for your Mom.

Joyce, I got my hair cut & colored on Monday. Although it really doesn’t change our situations, it does lift you up a bit. I am sure you will be pleased with the results.

Sue, I am glad that you and Pauline had the opportunity to meet. I only wish we all could have been there with the two of you.

As for me, I am still so sad & lonely. Missing Jim so much, but trying to keep going as best I can. What else can we do?

My Dad has been having some health issues which are also taking it’s toll on my Mom along with all the rest of the family, but things have improved slightly in the past few days.

It is rainy & chilly here again today, but it is supposed to warm up after this. Maybe summer will finally be here!

Cyndi, How are you doing? I hope you are doing OK. Hope to hear from you soon.

    Everyone take care.

    Love & Hugs,

    Lisa,

Not that this will change anything for you, but we had a situation years ago where our insurance agent assured us something would be covered & after our son was hospitalized the hospital called saying they checked with the insurance & it would only be paying 50% and how would we be taking care of the rest. We were told to always get something in writing when asking these questions, but like you we trusted that this person knew what they were talking about. We paid that one off for a long time! (We also changed companies) You are not alone in your struggles with these insurances, but it is not fair. You don’t need the added stress. I hope on review this decision will be reversed. Good Luck!

    Lisa,

I agree with Marion. This is so ridiculous & unfair. As if dealing with this awful disease and everything that comes with it isn’t more than enough, but to have to worry about the insurance, high premiums etc. is really not fair. Something needs to be done about our horrid health care system here in the US. It is totally out of control. I don’t have any answers for you, but am truely outraged by this. As usual, it seems that insurance is only there for you if you don’t need it! So many of us are falling through those cracks. I’m liking Marion’s idea. If the system can screw with you, why not screw the system! Do whatever it takes to make it work for you if you can.

    Dear Carrie Ann,

I am so sorry for your loss. I agree that losing a loved one to this horrible cancer is the worst thing that any of us have or will experience in our life time. You are a wonderful supportive daughter and I am glad you were able to be there with her to comfort her at the time of her passing. Take comfort in knowing that she is now in a better place, no longer suffering or in pain. Know that she will always be with you in your heart & memories. and you will be with her again one day. All of us that have lost a loved one in this way know what you are now feeling & going through. We are all traveling this journey of grief together. Come back often as we are all here to help & support each other as we all truely understand in a way that others can’t.

Try to stay strong and take care of yourself during this sad & trying time. You and your family are in my thoughts & prayers.

    Amy,

I also want to welcome you. I too can relate to the birthday thing as my husbands first symptoms appeared right around his 62nd birthday. His liver enzymes were good in June and his symptoms started the beginning of July, so even though as Jamie said, anything normal is good, it does seem to vary with everyone.

I will be thinking postive thoughts and keeping you all in my prayers. Hoping for the best for your Mom.

Take care and keep in touch. As Marion said, everyone here is so helpful and willing to share advice, support, comfort and even just a willing ear to listen when you need to vent your feelings.

    Tia,

I too am so sorry to hear what you, your Mom & family are going through. I agree with the others that this disease is very unpredictable. It never seems to do what is expected. I too would look at getting another opinion and ultimately the most important thing is for your Mom to be kept comfortable and as pain free as possible. In our case, after many tests that found nothing, a liver biopsy suggested CC and a PET Scan confirmed it.

Stay in touch & let us know how things are going. You have found the best people in the world here for help, comfort, support & guidence when dealing with this horrible disease.

I will keep you all in my thoughts & prayers.

    Love & Hugs,

    Diane,

I too would like to welcome you to our “club”. I am glad you found us & sorry that you have a need to be here. As Lainy already said, you appear to be on top of things & having found this site, you will get all the help, support & comfort you could ask for and then some. We are all in this together and are here for each other. Come back often & let us know how you are doing.

    Amy,

I am glad to hear that your Mom did call the doctor. I agree with everyone else that these are issues to be concerned about. In my husband’s case, nothing showed up anywhere until he had a liver biopsy and PET Scan. He did have some slight itching and urine darker than normal by this time. The only other symptom I recall is that for a few months before all of this started, his legs were bothering him & they could find no reason for it. Keep in touch & let us know how things are going. I will be hoping for the best.

    Dear Danielle,

It is with such great sadness that I read this post. I share your sorrow & your pain. I know the next days will be very trying and hope that you can take some comfort in knowing that his passing, with all of his loved ones surrounding him was peaceful. Try to remember all the good times & know that he is now in a better place, no longer suffering from this horrible disease. He will be with you in your heart & memories forever. I will be thinking of you as you travel this journey of shock, disbelieve & grief. We are all traveling it along with you and will be here for you when you need us for strength, comfort & support. You and your family have my heartfelt sympathy and will be in my thoughts & prayers.

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla
