    Hi Darlene,

Welcome to the board. Glad you have found us but sorry you had to. Can’t add much to all the good advice you have already gotten, but I do agree you may want to get more opinions. Hoping things are going OK and that the scan brings you some positive news. Update us and let us know how things are progressing.

    Oh Dear Olga,

I can only imagine how hard this new news is for you and Norbert. It is just not fair to have two people so close to you dealing with this terrible disease. I too hope they will come aboard as although we can’t make it better, we can be here to help and support. Keeping posting and venting all you want & need to. We are all here for you. Keep us updated as you can. Thinking of all of you.

    Dear Kevin,

I am so sorry to read what your father, you and your family have gone through. You have my deepest sympathy and understanding. My husband died of this disease 6 years ago, much in the same way as your father., so I truly understand what you are feeling. I am glad you reached out to Marion as you couldn’t have found a better person for help and support. She is an amazing lady.

My heart goes out to you and your family as you go through this sad and trying time.

    Hugs,
    Darla

    Julie,

I agree with Marion. With all that is going on I wouldn’t hesitate to go to the ER if you are feeling the need to. Just wondering if the infection has anything to do with all of this. Let us know how you are doing.

My husband had shingles a few years before the CC was diagnosed. It was not a real severe case. Don’t really think there is a connection, but anything is possible with CC. I know at this point it doesn’t really help to look back, but I too often think back to things that may have been possible signs that we over looked or rationalized. This disease is so complex and so little is know about it that it is hard to put the pieces together. Hopefully the day will come when that will change and we will conquer this beast.

Thanks for posting this Gavin. I think it is important for family and caregivers to know what hospice is all about. We are now dealing with hospice for my 88 year old mom who has Parkinson’s along with Lewy Bodies, dementia and all it entails. She is in a nursing home and has gotten to the point of palliative care and hospice is really doing a good job. Can’t say enough about using hospice when the time comes.

    Borelandn,

Welcome and although I am sorry you had to find us, am glad that you did. My first thought is to find an oncologist who is more familiar with CC and get a second and possibly even third opinion. You need someone who can give you a more informed opinion and help to lead you in the right direction. Sorry I can’t be of more help. There are several on this board from your part of the world and I am hoping some of them will be on soon to give you some suggests.

Take care and keep us informed as to how things are progressing. We will do our best to help and support in any way that we can. Take care.
