I would gladly appreciate an infection, but, He was in the er last week and all the blood cultures were normal. We have to schedule an appt with the oncologist to see what he thinks. I work for Jims PCP and he feels the chemo is not helping. But he will talk to the oncologist this afternoon.

Thank you Marion. I was understanding that ascities was mainly abdominal swelling…So it would still be considered ascities in the legs?
Hello all, I am also new here. my husband Jim has stage 4 pancreatic cancer mets to liver. He had the whipple surgery and is now taking gemzar 3 weeks on 1 week off. He all of a sudden noticed foot and leg swelling. They are 5 times the regular size. We saw the oncologist to day and he was given lasix and potassium. We have been using ice and elevation. Our pcp said it could be a blockage. He says we have to give the medication time to see if it works.
THIS IS A VERY MEAN CANCER….. Thanks DonnaMy husband had his last appt with his surgeon today. We see the oncologist next thursday to set up chemo and/or radiation. She gave us a copy of his pathology report today. His cancer is staged at T3. Can anyone tell me just how invasive that is? Donna
