ModeratorI’m not sure Duke, can’t recall hearing of this too much. Heard of trials closing due it not going as hoped and all that but not for lack of participation. Hopefully others will have some input on this issue.
Best wishes,
Gavin

ModeratorHi Cholango,
I’m sorry to hear this latest news about your dad. I’m with Lainy here about seeking further opinions if you can for your dad. How does he feel about that? Hoping that you get some good news from the trial that you are looking into for your dad and please let us know how you get on with that.
The fatigue and tiredness that your dad is experiencing right now is very common with this cancer and my dad went through that as well fro quite some time. Please know that we are here for you throughout, you are not alone in this.
My best wishes to you and your dad,
Gavin

ModeratorHi Mohsin,
Welcome to the site. I’m sorry to hear about your mum and what she is going through right now but glad that you’ve joined us here as you’re in the best place for support and help, and know that you’ll get loads of each from everyone here. Thanks for sharing what your mum is going through right now and having been the carer for my dad after he was diagnosed with CC I know what you are going through right now.
Have you thought about seeking further opinions on treatment options for your mum? Is the radiotherapist saying that he/she does not recommend radiotherapy in general for CC or just for your mum? My dad never had chemo so I can’t share any personal experiences on that but I know that others will be along soon to share with you on this. Not sure really about not trying chemo unless there is pain, never heard of that before. Personally if it was me I would get my mum to another oncolgist to seek their opinion as to chemo. We have so many members here who are or have gone through chemo before they have had any pain.
Do keep coming back Mohsin, we are here for you and we care.
My best wishes to you and your mum,
Gavin

ModeratorGlad to be of help Nicole. Could you get one of these hat type things that also covers most of the face and mouth? Think that that would be of great help to your husband this winter.
My best to you both,
Gavin

ModeratorHi Supermum,
Welcome to the site. Sorry that you had to find us all here and I am sorry to hear about your husband, but glad that you have joined us here as you’re in the right place for support and help and I know that you will get loads of both from everyone here.. Not really much that I can add to what the others have said to you already, but going full guns blazing, that’s fighting talk and I love hearing that!
I too am from the UK, Dundee in Scotland and my dad was diagnosed and treated up here. He had PDT as his treatment. Here is a link to AMMF that is a UK site and charity and you will find a lot of UK specific related info there.
Where was your husband’s consultant in London based if you don’t mind me asking? Like the others have said, the search forum function will throw up tons of relevant info from the members here and if we can help in any way please just ask. If you wanted any specific UK related info from Helen then please just let me know and I’ll get in touch with her on your behalf if you want.
And please let us know how everything goes. You are not alone in this, we are here for you and we care.
My best wishes to you and your husband,
Gavin

ModeratorHi Dollin,
Welcome to the site. Sorry that you had to find us all here and sorry to hear about your husband. But glad that you’ve joined us here as you’re in the best place for support and help. Does your husband have any heart issues? Blue lips can be a sign of low blood oxygen and poor circulation. My mum had issues with blue lips and the mouth area when she was in hospital after a heart attack and they said the blue lips were down to her heart issues.
Personally if it was me, I would take your husband to the E&R today and get him checked out. Have you called the onc at least to get their opinion on this? IMO, blue lips and mouth are something that needs to be investigated as soon as possible.
Please let us know how you get on, and know that we are here for you and we care.
My best to you and your husband,
Gavin
