Anne-My mom had effects from the stroke. She had limited movement on right side, short term memory loss and weakness. She had to learn to talk, write, read (she never did get all that back) and walk again. She managed to stay in her own apartment and do the basics for her self. We filled in all the blanks, she could microwave but not use stove, she had bathing assistance…
She used a walking stick. The doctors could not believe she came out of this and was so independant.

Leslie-Welcome and sorry you had to find us, I am a CC survivor, 3 years, 4 months cancer free! Please read my story on my FB page (Catherine Sims Dunnagan) it is full of HOPE.
My family lives in NE, (Papillion and La Vista) and the Univeristy of Nebraska saved my mom’s life when diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphona, 2 other oncologist told her to get her affairs in order. Our miracle worker there was Dr. Voss, which turns out she was one of the top docs for this cancer.
My hero and miracle workder was Dr. William Chapman at Barnes-Jewish Hospital St. Louis MO.
I can’t add much to what all are telling you, and just reinforce how important it is to be treated at a major hospital with trials and expierence in CC.
Please contact me if I or my family can help.
    Lots of prayers and HOPE-Cathy

Kelly-My miracle worker was Dr. William Chapman at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis MO. I can never say enough about this man, I am alive because of God, 2 strangers and Dr. Chapman. I hope you have read my story on my FB page, it tells just how lucky I was to have been put in his care. The man has a soul, and big heart, along with the greatest doctor skills! Barnes is also #6!!
I had a spot on my lung this winter and my doctors really believed it was nothing BUT did not want to take any chances and wanted it removed and it was nothing.
Please feel free to contact me if I can help.

Tiff-right now I am sitting here very annoyed with my daughter. I have been to hell and back, I shouldn’t be here, but I am so mad at my dear child right now and it feels good, because life is NORMAL!! Cancer took 3 long years of my 57 years, not bad odds!! Cry, laugh, be mad, panic, worry like crazy, because that just means you are alive and fighting!!
Susie is right it is a big surgery, but I was home 2 weeks (it would have been sooner but I had a collapse lung) after surgery. When I was at Dr. Chapman’s reception he introduced me to an 83 year old gentlemen who had a liver transplant 2 months ago!! (Dr. Chapman went to his birthday party!!). You are blessed, young and strong you are going to make it!! Do you realize what a lesson you are teaching your children about faith and fortitude!!! Keep up the great work, God is not done with you!!

Tiff-Congrats again!! Enjoy the moment, it will be one to remember! ( I keep my letter framed!!). I might have to think a quick trip to Huntsville before you leave! I also doubt you would have been tested with out insurance approval first! Call when you have time (618-567-3247).
So glad prayers are working but I think we have an inside force called Kim and Jim!! God always has a plan!
