    Federica,

I’m having GEMOX and do not have so many side effects, mostly littlle fever for couplle of days just right after the infusion and some neuropathia during the first week, it occurrs after touching something cold like Coke can etc.

For the results so far, I not able to tell any news as I have had so far just two rounds and will have two more before having the next MRI.

I trust that it will work as planned.

Greetings from cold and rainy Finland

It si time for second round of GEMOX.
The first was easy, I didn’t have allmost any side effects; a littlle sensitive with cold objects, (low) fever on the second day and tiredness on the third!

Today I visited the hospital and discussed with a doctor. She told me that the main tumor was before we started the chemo 8.8 x 2.9 cm by size. Next monday I will have my next round of GEMOX and hope that the side effects are as minimal as they were with the first round. My doze is gems1000 mg per m2 and oxalpltin 85 mg per m2 and this is every three weeks. After 9 weeks I will have the next MRI taken.

    Keep the flag up!

    Maria,

nice to hear from you. according to your text the treatment in Sweden and in Finland are quite the same. Our type of cancer is so rare in Scandinavia that the doctors are more followers than really devoted to our cancer. I’m fortunate to have a family friend, internationally well known cancer specialist who knows CC and gives advice to me.

Take good care of your self

    Lycka till!

    Hi All,

I can’t take cisplatin as me Crea is too high and it can make my kidneys to disfunktional, so the second best option is to have oxalplatin with gezmar.

When didi your granmother leave helsinki and do you know any Finnish words?

That is the case; Gemcitabine + Oxcaliplatin. I can’t take cisplatin because of my kidneys!

My CC is in stage IV, which means that it has advanced to other parts of me, where exactly, I’m not certain. I will have a new scan made in 21st.

I will be treated in Finland at the helsinki University Hospital, the top place in our country.

Since I heard that I have CC I have had consultations with not only one but three other cancer specialists. It’s always good to have more than one opinion.

I think the most valuable issue is to have strong believe to the chosen treatment. Human mind works mysterious ways!

With positivity and strong trust in what ever you are doing gives the best results.

My situation is much similar to yours. CC is in stage IV and chemo will start next week.

Trust can move mountains. Keep the flag up, with positivity we can clime this mountain, don’t you agree!’
